Which of the new 2011 vehicles

Would you like to have or are interested in that kinda grabs your attention and made you look at it a little. Me, the mustang is in the back of my mind. But I was thinking about getting a fuel sipper for DD since gas keeps going up and up. The volt got my attention but man that is a pricey car. And don't flame but the kia optima looks cool this year.

m4a1mustang 01-07-2011 11:37 AM

Hmmm... there's not much new out there that peaks my interest. Plus I already picked up my 2011 5.0 so I am going to be out of the new car market this year.

At some point I want a project car... I'm thinking something like a Porsche 944.

2012-13 should be a much better year for new cars. 2011 is very boring honestly.

I'd love to project a TT 300zx one day.

kenchan 01-07-2011 11:56 AM

yah, i agree that 2012-13 will be a much more interesting year for new dd cars... Golf-R, FT86, CRZ with 200hp no battery, etc.

but then again, if you're looking for a econobox, i think any of the low-end cars would be fine to get in 2011. personally i have 2 Fit's and they do their work. they are my work horse. the MT one is actually pretty fun to drive in the winter time.

other choices: xB, Focus, maybe the ugly current Maz3 hatches.

Yeah the 2011 yr is kinda boring but some of the so called 2012 models are coming out early 2011. Like the aveo rs ( don't flame thinking bout fuel sipper ) The focus rs is cool but I think its pricey and the focus rs500 I don't think is available here in the U.S. and they are all spoken for all 500 of them are sold already. Thought about a Nitro but that's not really fuel efficient but it would be a small sport ute.

How about the Hyundai Veloster . A sporty front wheel drive,
2011 Hyundai Veloster coupe will be powered by Hyundai’s new 1.6L GDI engine with more than 140 horsepower. A turbocharged version of the afore-mentioned four-cylinder
engine will also be available. The 1.6L turbo unit is expected to produce around 180 horsepower and will, reportedly, be mated to Hyundai’s first-ever dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

2011 Hyundai Veloster model’s price will start below $20,000.

If your focus is more on smaller cars, I like the like new Mazda 2's. Saw a few of them decked out at the NY Auto Show and they look like they would make for a fun DD or econo car. I also like the Mini Countryman, but it's a bit pricey for that much car......I like the Beachcomber Concept even more. Too bad it's development is delayed.

Fiat 500 is also coming stateside.

I was looking at a 944 years ago for a first car. They are very expensive to maintain, but the 944S2 I looked at was a NEAT! car. Nearly 200bhp from a 4-banger back in the 80's. That will be an awesome little project car regardless of the 944 you get! :tiphat:

I think YM 2014 is going to be the real big one, or calendar year 2013. That is when Ford, GM, and probably (hopefully!?) Nissan are going to have to come out with all new mustangs, camaro's, Z's, and 'vettes. Although GM looks posed to hit YM2013 with the C7. If I could afford the Lambo's,etc. or if the battery cars were my thing, I might think otherwise, but for me, calendar years 2012-2014 are going to be the coolest as a car enthusiast.

mick 01-07-2011 02:39 PM

if i didn't already have a 370z, i probably would get a 2011 challenger R/T with the fake hood scoop appearance. most of those guys on the challenger forum don't like it but i think it looks cool. sorry. :)

I would get an ~87 944 Turbo. They make around 250 hp. They aren't expensive at all if you can DIY. The only expense is if you can't do something yourself you have to pay Porsche labor to get something done. But most everything on the car I would be able to tackle in my garage.

The quality of the cup is just amazing. No American or Jap could handle the curvage so well.

they don't skimp out on the lubricant either. they use 6 quarts... so you can imagine what you're getting....

A 240sx with an ls1

On the contrary German reacharounds are too precise and accurate, where as others are more filled with soul, passion and relaxation.

German fetish based training doesn't add much as well. Before you know it all kinds of random objects are now being inserted into your rectum.

Yeah if you are willing to keep going to the point where it startes to chafe. You have to be into pain to do that kinda stuff! Crazy Italians.

Mike 01-07-2011 06:48 PM

I'll never do it, but I have been thinking I could replace my expedition and 370z with a CTS-V wagon and have a track car that I can haul everything inside of.

Thats an unconfirmed rumor as far as I've read. I would drop everything and buy that car though so if you have a link let me know. I love the looks of the CRZ but I have no interest in the lack of passing power of a 1.5 engine. One shop did swap in a K20 though. :D

I've been looking at the CRZ, the 5.0 Mustang, and the Camaro. Nothing else seems to grab my attention.

Junior370z 01-08-2011 09:56 AM

For some reason I want the Mugen Honda fit! That thing is pretty suck lookin lol!
