Goodbye 370z :(
 

Well fellow Z owners, I ended up trading in my 2009 370z Sport/Touring Package with Navigation today. She had 20,776 miles.

I ended up getting a 2011 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner Double Cab with SR5 Package......

I was using my Z as my daily driver which was fun, however daily driver and trying to keep her dent free is almost impossible unless you park far and away from knuckle heads, also getting my Duffle Bags and Gear for the Army into the hatch took alot of puzzle solving, not to mention San Antonio City Roads suck........pot hole after pot hole....dodged...ooops another freakin pot hole..........

All in all my Z expierence was great, fast and handled well...not to mention I was lucky not to expierence some of the negative things other forum members expierenced.

370z
POSITIVE:

- Fast and Sexy
- Handling around highway curves/off ramps excellent (feels like you get sucked in a time tunnel)
- Gas Mileage very good
- Interior Design Definite Winner
- Comfort is Excellent


NEGATIVE:

- Potholes SUCK
- Intersection road DIPS SUCK

POSITIVE:

- Potholes? What are those
- Intersection Road DIPS? Drive fast and not miss light
- More Room to date sexy baby mama's :P
- "Hey GURL I can see your undies"
- I can pull my boat :) Gettin' ready for the end of the world "Flooding?"
- I can load plywood :) Gettin' ready for the end of the world "ZOMBIES?"

NEGATIVE:

- I get to work 1 min slower
- Don't get your car is Sexy comments
- Big Gurlz hollar at me....thinkin' of more lift and bigger rim/tires with sticker "FATT Gurlz can't JUMP?"

But for now enjoying more room for groceries and military gear, big savings in insurance and using regular gas :) plus ppl tend to move out your way when you got a BULL Guard (Next on list) on em :P Also, I can park next to those nice Z's and open my door on em lol only kidding fellow members......only kidding no harm intended..........

Will I go back to a Z? Probably not....next sports car will be a corvette or porsche......it was fun........but now she's gone......... <tear>


MADE PROPS to 370z Forum......I must add this is probably one of the best if not the best layed out forum on the internet....

I feel ya on why you traded it. Same here man, 8 months i owned it, it had 2 hit and runs in a parting lot, my ZX6R fell on it and my gf accidently smashed the car into the ZX6R. And i couldnt get my army kit in the car either, had to make multiple trips from my house to the base. Good luck with your new ride, i know i love my ride i got when i traded the Z in.

Really did enjoy the Z.....but most definitely for me it shoulda been a weekend or week night chillin car........I thought about a beater car or a cheap daily driver....but then I was thinkin' what if the Army decide to move me a few states over...........??????? 370Z and moving some luggage wouldn't work and a TOW TRAILER attached simply isn't COOL LOL..........

Dang..been there done that....trips back and forth sux.....when I go TDY and have to fly I end up taking a taxi to the airport or rental car place just so I could leave my car in the garage.........I didn't even drive mine to Wal-Mart and only went to the mall or movie theater early LOL ......lotz of parking spots far away..........

God what the hell is up with people selling their Z AND SUDDENLY BIG NASTY MEAN TRUCKS -_-

I LOL hard at trucks I have a deep hate for them.


except for the Dodge RAM especially the SRT-10 version that one is delicious.

LOL, I use to hate trucks with a passion.......this is my first truck i ever bought...I owned nothing but cars prior to this purchase......I decided on a truck versus a car cuz..........roads here suck ...........but more than likely in the near future I will buy a sports car again........maybe a new Z itch might happen.............

Been there...Land Rover to G35 to FJ Cruiser to 370Z :)

I keep missing the driving experience of a sports car, tire of the anxiety of keeping it "pristine", take a break with a SUV, then do it all over again.

I loved the FJ Cruiser. It was very, very good for what it is.

funny you mentioned walmart cuz thats where the first hit and run was at with my 370z. Was coming into the parking lot. Women that was coming the oppsite direction made a turn to wide while she was on her cell and scraped along my driver side. Took off, i chased her, couldnt get a hold of cops so she agree'd to go to the police station with me, she tried to run again and then tried to hit me once i wouldnt leave her alone. Cops wouldnt do a damn thing. Second time was i think in a Canadian Tire parking lot...not sure. Was driving the Z in the winter and washed it off right before i was heading out on a deployment. Washed all the dirt off my rear bumper and seen that someone must have tried to turn into the space next to me and scraped along my bumper, left no info.

I went through a truck phase. At the time, it made a lot of sense. Long commute to work on bad winter roads, lots of home improvement projects, etc. Good luck with the Tacoma. I like the way they look, and they have apparently fixed the frame rot problem from a few years back.

Same happend to me in 2008, got a job out of state and had to move. Got a 2006 Toyota Tacoma XRunner, nice truck with like 18K miles. But the gas price, never been a truck guy plus the urge for a 350Z since it came out drove my to trade the truck even that it was very comfortable and useful at that time.

See i never been a truck guy before, but when i seen the deal on this truck and the fact that it has a viper engine, i couldnt resist. Basically it mainly came down to the engine for me, haha.

Maybe your Z can do this sort of thing? This is my truck, and it's used as a truck.

OP, I loved my Z too, but times and priorities change, part of life. Good luck with the new ride!

Yeah I got a truck instead of the Z after I got back into Steelhead fishing again. Hard to drive up old logging trails in a coupe. For some reasons dents don't bruise me as easily with my truck. It's kind of meant for punishment. Wish I had a longer bed though.

Trucks are cool as hell. Lifted and big tires and so on and so forth. Had an F-150 2.5 inch rough country lift, 20 inch nitto terra grapplers. Loved it, mudding is fun. The clean up is not. And it comes in handy moving stuff. It got 10-12 mpg which I wasn't too happy about.

I sure do! If you haven't noticed, quite a few people are saying ADIOS to the Z. :tiphat:

In an ideal world, there would be something that looks and feels like the Z with its speed and handling, but the hauling capacity and off-road abilities of a truck.

Since that's a pretty much impossible scenario, l have a Z and a truck.

You should have just kept the Z and bought a beater for daily.

Hopefully you didn't take too much of a bath in the trade in but I'm sure you did.
