Got to love Japanese engineering. I've had 33% tint on my windows, and 3M clear bra on the front, and the Jim Wolf POP charger intakes on my car since February 17 (ordered car Jan. 11, Received Feb 2). Not disappointed with any one of my purchases.

Enjoy your car and maybe I'll see you around. I haven't seen any other 370Z's on the road here in Seattle, but my friends say they have, maybe they say yours.

Got you beat, I was the first in Seattle with tinted windows, and 3M clear bra on the front.:driving::icon17::yum:

WOW so if u were speeding i guess the insurance agencies can say well u were driving recklessly and we don't have to fix your car. That sucks. The gov't always wants to know everything that goes on. I wonder if there is a way to disable this.

If you move the selector to the left from Drive, it's in Manual mode. It will hold the gear to redline until you shift. If you don't realize your are in M mode, and are also clueless about transmissions like my wife was, you can drive around in 1st all day long... Fortunately, my wife at least had the good sense to pull over and call me after a couple miles. It could have been much worse.

the burning smell is usual from the new car. when i got mine i didnt rev it more then 4rpm until 1600 miles and i floored it today, i think that broke in the engine because when i park it now there is no burning smell. the burning smell went away after 1100-1200 miles.

i got mine stick because i didnt want my mom or gf to drive it. the funny thing is now they want me to teach them how to drive stick lol

Right when I saw wife drove my z, I knew this wouldn't be pretty...
If you really love your baby you would never let anyone drive it!
You should always ask if anyone has questions before they take your car out especially if it's new like this one!!!!
I'm glad your wife was smart enough to actually stop and call you though, huge relief!
Good luck!

Good grief! Not that I would want to test that wide open throttle in first scenario but I would figure they (Nissan) would have added some programming forcing an upshift in a situation like that. The CVT I had in my Altima had logic that would keep a higher range if the transmission is overheated.

The problem is that this car is suppose to be full control when in M mode for automatics, so if she did not know she was in M mode then the car will not shift. Gives more control to the driver, but I could see a fail safe system where if you are riding at red line for X amount of time the car will shift.

how many miles should I put on my car before I open it up?
I'm not liking the "drive it like you stole it"
I feel that I should slowly do this for example after 1000 miles or so.
any suggestions?
thanks :)

The current break in period is about 1,200 miles. Keep shifts under 4k, no heavy breaking, etc.
