A Toyota Prius engaged me in a race today.
 

I was at the red light and a Prius was behind me. Light turned green I drove slowly forward because there was a big dip between the pavement and the road. And you know our Zs don't like big dip especially when you have a Sports package.

So I was half way thru the intersection and the light turned yellow. The Prius wasn't happy getting stuck behind me so the dude repeatedly honked me.

Once he cleared the intersection into a two-lane street, he floored his Prius. So I stepped on the gas and within 3 seconds, I couldn't see his Prius behind me. I stopped at the next light, and he slowly caught up.

Then he tried to engage me in a race. Light turned green and I could tell he floored his Prius again. I slowly drove away. He made a U-Turn at the next light so that was the end of it.

I don't know what the hell is going on but I've had a couple of incidents where Priuses were trying to race me. Driving a Z, it seems like everybody is trying to honk you for everything you do. Not that i'm scared of them, but do they really think they have a chance against a Z?

Sometimes i just want to relax and take it easy in my Z while listening to good music. People tend to think when you're in a sports car you should always drive aggresively and when they see you dont, they try to honk to get you upset or something.

i would let him win :)

Op, please don't take it the wrong way? Rules are rules, and I understand if you weren't aware of this. We all make mistakes. :tiphat:

I dd a 07 kawisaki zx-10r. I know all about people trying to get you to race. The thing does 9.9X @ upper 140's in the 1/4 and people think they have a prayer in their rustang or slomaro. just let them go. It isn't even worth the effort it takes to hang on.

i didn't race him as you could tell from my post. I let the Prius win.

I would never make any post to encourage anyone to race against anybody.

It's all good. I made a couple edits to my original post. hope it sounds better.

Oh I see then, Hypothetical street racing isn't allowed either!

happens to me all the time! I get random phaggots trying to race me and I'll wave them off telling them NO! I'm not interested but they don't seem to understand. Best thing to do is just ignore them and let them win.

Just rev your engine loudly at the light and than take off slowly when the light turn green. lol

I just wave or give them a thumbs up. I guarantee they'll feel silly about it for the rest of the day. :tup:
