alternator (whine) spool sound
I keep reading about the ECU whine. I have a faint whine on decel sometimes. So is this what you are talking about? Is it the actual ECU making the sound or is it something with the tuning that it causes something else to make the sound. My friend leased an 02 Vspec Sentra. That thing would whine like it had a turbo on decel. It was really audible if you reved it hard and killed the motor. Nissan used a clutched alternator to help with parasitic drains on the motor. It would disconnect the internals of the Alt if it wasn't needing to charge. rev it hard and it would engage the clutch then on decel it would disengage and let the internals free wheel down causing a whining sound. Do our cars have this?
