Stock Exhaust

I am getting the Stillen cat back exhaust put on very soon. What I am wondering is; is there any value in the old stock exhaust or will it be scape metal?

TongMan 12-18-2010 04:01 AM

Keep it for when you ever decide to go back to stock.

Yeah, definitely don't scrap it. Just hold on to it. You will be better off selling the aftermarket exhaust when you decide to sell the car.

:iagree: you won't add value to the car with an aftermaret exhaust and you may devalue it. Keep the oem to put back on.

Keep it. Put the OEM back on when you trade it. Sell the Stillen on the forum. That way you get money for your mod, you trade in a "stock" car (always better), and someone on the forum gets a good deal who might otherwise couldn't have swung a Stillen exhaust right then. Everyone wins.

I think I remember people selling them for about $50-100. But it might take a while. You have to wait until someone wants to go back to stock.

Mine is the attic, for when I trade my Z in on an R8 (which means, it will be in the attic for a LONG time!)

With any luck, my Stillen CBE goes on Monday. The shop said I could store it there. Do I want to keep the old sways and coil overs too?

ProfessorDave 12-18-2010 02:23 PM

I wouldn't bother keeping the sways, but that's just me. I don't think they are the kind of mod to reduce value if you sold, and can be a PITA to remove/replace with stock (the rears on the Z anyway, from what I understand)
