But yeah it sucks to have one of the few 370z in San Diego, I've been followed home by 2 guys in a g37s, I got pulled over yesterday by a female cop who "was doing a routine check" at 1:30am, all she did was ask me about my car, and the first thing she said after "license and proof of insurance" was "so this is what a 370 looks like"....Im not a **** and I love to share with people who want to see it but I dont like being followed home and I dont like to get pulled over after a long day at work....

But anyways, good luck with the Z you will love it.

Here it's illegal for them to pull you over without cause, so check your local rules and maybe file a complaint. If the cops want to check it out then they should go to a car meet or dealership like everyone else.

Nah, she was nice. And today I was at a frozen yogurt place with the wife and 2 dudes were checking out the monster for like 5 mins.... I wouldve been funny to make the car go off with the remote, but that wouldve been ****, and they wouldve been like :ohsnap1:.

Right after I got my car I took it to a car meet where there were 3 GTRs and some hot Ferrari's. I swear the 370 was getting more attention than them for sure, but I was the only 370. I've had a few people cruise along side on the highway trying to check it out. It's cool to get some attention but I don't like getting pulled over! It makes my heart skip a beat when I see blue lights.

I just got pulled over AGAIN, FOR NO REASON! this time it was on a military base, which is twice as ridicoluos....

I just got on base, and driving toward the building were i work and I see a base cop behind me. Theyre around all the time so I was paying attention, when all of a sudden the lights come on. I pull over and the MA (master at arms, same as military police) aproaches my car and asks for my regristration, insurance, Driver's license and Military ID. I give him the documents except for the registration because its on the windshield (CA). So he is trying to explain while very obiously checking out my car that he pulled me over because there was no front plate, and also explaining to me the law in CA that states that you should have both plates, which doesnt apply to me yet becasue Im driving a new car that clearly doesnt have the rear plate, which means that I havent received plates so far.... and then tries to tell me that he is checking for any problems with my registration..... THIS IS ALL BULL. You cant get on base with out a good registration, drivers license and proof of insurance!

I love my car and like that people admire it, but Im getting tired of getting pulled over for no reason.

Is anyone else having this little issue?

I go on bases and government facilities a lot for work too. This would be extremely annoying. Ill let you know when I get my Z in a few weeks if this happens to me. If it happens a lot, I will just start driving the Camry when I go on base...

No police has pulled me over yet.
But i have gotten all the other stuff.
I have not heard a horn honk in years, now every where i go i feel like i am being honked at.
I have not had people yell at me while im driving now i get it every where i go.
I have not had idiots rev there engine at me or leave it in first for way to long to make noise on purpose, now i get it all the time.
I hate leaving my car parked in one spot for to long for when i come out some ones gotta be near it.
The "haters" club sti's and evo's if i see them, i swear they have to come near me or park near me. Yeah i know they probably dont hate but i think the majority do from that crowd. I can just picture them telling there friends i saw a 370z and it doesnt look good.
and one soul 350z caught me at night time but he was cool and he had a z so i would have talk to him anyways.

Not on Fort Meade, Andre. In fact, I have YET to even be asked to see my license/registration/insurance with my intransits on (no front plate of course) when coming on base, for almost a week! Crazy, on a military base...

Coming from a 350z I know how this cars are but the 370Z is really amazing, the power delivery is awsome and when you shift up from red line it puts you in a sweet spot. I test drove a yellow base with s/p at the dealer but it wasnt broken in and i didnt beat it too bad, so i couldnt really feel the car at its peak performance. I cant wait to take this thing to a track!

oh, and my oil temp never went over 240, and today was a pretty warm day here in San Diego. That makes me happy.

You won't need to change a good synthetic every 3000 miles. 5K is OK, some push it further but the VQ37 runs hot and is hard on oil. Stick with the owner's manual recommendation of 5W-30 oil. Forget the overpriced Nissan Ester Oil.
I have been pleased with Redline Oil, delivered to your door for about $10 per quart from Amazon.com and with no tax (ha ha F.U. Jerry Brown) and use a Mobil 1 # 110 size filter. Change it yourself. Crawl under your car, skin some knuckles, burn yourself with hot oil and you will bond with your new car in an time honored tradition.
