Cover frozen to my Z
Ok, so i messed up.
Cover came half off from wind yesterday and got rained on. I put the cover back on the wet car and now, of course, it's frozen. Temps won't go above freezing in the forecast. :shakes head: Will it hurt the paint to just leave it stuck there for days? Weeks? Any solutions? Too far away to blow a hair dryer on it. Pots of hot water? Norma water? Just leave it? |
Whatever you do, do NOT put hot water on it. That will do bad things. Depending on how much of the cover is frozen to it even cold water might not be a good option because it'll just refreeze before you can get it off.
Can you get in the car at all? If you can, I'd start it and turn on all the defrosters. That combined with the engine warmth should get most of it. If that isn't an option then maybe leaving it is the best. Good luck. |
Leaving it should not cause harm any more than ice on a car will damage a normal car. If you weren't planning on driving it maybe you should just leave it as it is.

If the car is parked in the sun the surface temperature should be a few degrees higher than the air temperature thanks to solar radiation, might just be enough to thaw it out.
Want me to bring out a generator and a couple of hair driers? LOL. |
Thanks, no I wont be driving it for the winter, so I'll just let it sit there.
Fail! :) |
