Damn, how fast was she backing up?

Had this nearly happen a couple days ago. A woman was backing out in her Nissan Armada. Now, I thought it was common sense turn while backing out so you have enough space to turn yourself straight, but this idiot backed out of her spot STRAIGHT, and I mean without even a thought about it. There was no issue with the cars beside her, and in fact, one side had the cart area, so she had an extra 18 inches of open space there. I really cannot fathom what she was thinking, and she didn't just almost hit my Z, but me as well as I was standing by it waiting for her to get out... She probably would have actually hit my car had I not been there, as I'm sure from her high angle she didn't see it.

Very unfortunate! :( ..I'm just curious, are you sure 3000 will cover all the expanses? Good luck with everything!

Awww that sucks bigtime!!!

Did you punch her? (HAHA, just kidding)

Hopefully the damage is contained to the bumper and did not get into the 1/4.

Some drivers are idiots and do not pay attention.... Sorry to hear/see that man...

dandg 03-23-2009 10:31 AM

Sorry to hear that man. I've had a couple of close calls so far. The other day a woman on her cell phone nearly changed lanes right into me, she came within 1-2 inches of hitting my car and I had to swerve in the other lane (i'm lucky there wasnt a car there). I'm paranoid about parking so I always park as far away as I can from other cars. There's so many bad drivers out there you have to be careful.

god damnit. Cars driven by women should be equiped with big rubber bumpers.

Oh that's just painful to look at. If she whacked into your wheel hard enough that you're getting it replaced, make sure the alignment is checked out too, as well as the wheel hub. And make sure you get a check for the diminished value.

You beat me to it again Semtex! This is VERY IMPORTANT.

If your wheel is damaged there may well be suspension damage and a good way to get an idea is to have the alignment checked. For godsake get it done because you do not want an unstable Zcar at XXX mph.

Be ultra fussy about it - it's your car and your life.

:icon18: Some of those were new to me - I love the B&W CCTV footage of the French woman - and the way her handbag is the first thing to be retrieved.
