100% would get the S5 coupe with a 6MT over the Z. If I had 60k to spend at the time of getting my car, I'd be driving the S5 instead.

I also hate how the moonroof doesn't open on the A5/S5. Might as well give me a CF roof instead. |
GTR's are too fast, too stable, and too automatic for most streets imho. hense why i did not get one. at minimum it needs a 6MT gearbox for street drivers like me.
i think even the 370Z's are a tad too powerful at times for the streets to really have fun in. but thankfully the Z's dont rev very clean up high so i like to keep the rpm's below 6k for most driving. :) |

In a different way I understand what you are saying about a fun car for the street. I was really nervous about coming from an S2000 to the 370Z. With the S2000 I really enjoyed winding through the gears and not having to worry about approaching dangerous speeds for the street. In the end I'm very happy. I think the Z is a perfect match for a fun streetable sports car.

Stangs and Z's are about the limit for street driving great performance/muscle/sport cars for the street IMO; the Stang being on the performance-muscle end of the spectrum and the Z on the performance/sport end, but both great. The next step up (GT500, Z06, GTR) are too fast to realy enjoy on the street.
But they are hot though. And my fav Ferrari of all time is the Scuderia (like I have ever driven one though... I FAIL). |
Did someone mention Miata?!?

My G20 tops out at 117mph. That is a felony.
I think 145hp is too much for the street. I lust for a VW van (seriously, I do). That way I cannot do anything illegal. In all honestly, it's not about top speed, it's about how fast you get to the speed you want to get to, how it handles, and how fun it is to get there. For me, that means a true manual transmission and well over 300rwhp. Otherwise it's just boring and relegated to DD status. The 370Z I drove felt great, definitely not too much for the street. I passed because it wasn't enough to make me smile in a week or two and I knew the rush of it being nice and all would wear off quickly without more grunt. |
