just finished repairing a 09 salvaged 370z, she feels like new. guy wrecked her with just 7,000 miles.
thought people would be happy to know theres one less wrecked 370 out in the world :P

m4a1mustang 11-25-2010 12:03 PM

Holy cow! Great job saving the car.

spearfish25 11-25-2010 12:18 PM

Strong work! A bit personal but I'm curious. How much did you buy the wreck for and what do you pay to fix her up?

onzedge 11-25-2010 01:16 PM

Beautiful job. It warms my heart when a Z is saved.

carvalho360 11-25-2010 01:23 PM

bought it for 11 i think...and i think in total i paid 22 for it... a little more than expected but still, for a 09 w just 7k miles it was worth it

370zproject 11-25-2010 11:51 PM

nice

Jamaica 11-26-2010 12:36 AM

wow very impressive. 22k is a good price.

370zproject 11-26-2010 12:39 AM

yep

ZedZed 11-26-2010 01:59 AM

Holy cow was exactly what came through my mind also ! great job ! :D

carvalho360 11-26-2010 06:27 AM

put 300 miles on it as of today... cabin sounds great.... feels just like the one i test drove 4 months ago..and visually its impossible to tell anything was ever wrong... I love it haa

ProfessorDave 11-26-2010 10:36 AM

What? No rear fog light?!?

Seriously, really nice job. Looks great!

fullmonty 11-26-2010 06:26 PM

Very nice, lord knows the paint job you have on there will be better than factory!

BeachZTT 11-26-2010 07:15 PM

Love a good save! Congrats!

PapoZalsa 11-26-2010 10:10 PM

Nice job, hope you are thinking to keep it for a long time.

Because even that you saved all that money, it still will be a Salvage Title.

christian370z 11-26-2010 10:13 PM

Wow, that is a fantastic turn around. I really respect the work that goes into this type of a task, good job!

bwahahhaha

esfourteen 11-27-2010 11:15 AM

Congrats on saving a Z!

I'm more curious to see what it looks like UNDER the rear bumper cover. That looks like it needed every panel on the rear end replaced, crazy work

carvalho360 11-28-2010 12:00 AM

haa yea there was a gaping hole in the rear half way through.. ill put up pics tomorrow for anyone whos interested. and i intend on keeping her for a loooooonnnnngggggg time...i put 700 miles on her in the last 36 hours haa...only problem so far was we forgot the clips underneath the engine for the plastic cover so whenever i break 100 it scrapes... not that i do that often of course....haa

we pretty much cut out the entire mid section of the rear and replaced it

wow looks like tons of work.

Super Tanooki 11-29-2010 03:21 AM

Awesome save - looks great now. It breaks my heart to see a Z all banged up like that.

Has anyone seen the Salvage Black 370Z on Autotrader.com for $18.5k? It's been there for ages, staring me in the face. They've reduced it from around $21k iirc. (Oh, it's in West Covina, Cali, I'd post a link but the site's down right now).

$18k for a 2009 Sport/Base with 7000 on the clock. Mmm... I wonder why no one's snapped it up.:icon14:

carvalho360 11-29-2010 07:37 AM

18.5 sounds high for a starting point :p. Is it rebuilt?

Dan Z Man 11-29-2010 10:58 PM

wow..fantastic work..looks perfect..after seeing the crash pics, seems like it would be impossible to fix

Rooskey 11-29-2010 11:17 PM

The best thing about a salvage car is who cares what happens to it. Especially if you salvaged it yourself. Drive it like you stole it. If you bang it up you can always fix it and say "Cars been there done that" LOL. Nice job on the fix.

carvalho360 11-30-2010 10:23 AM

lol i refuse to bang it up...love it too much already

fuct 11-30-2010 11:37 AM

they did a great job but was there any frame damage?

carvalho360 11-30-2010 06:02 PM

slight frame damage. Was on a frame machine for slight work

It's been fixed already, if that's what you mean. It looks great now. Other than that I don't know much about it. It says "no frame damage" on the post, so it all seems fine. But no one's bought it yet, which is telling. I did call them up a few weeks ago - the guy couldn't tell me which packages it had on it, was a bit of an impolite ***, and ended up not calling me back anyway.

Here's the link though: Cars for Sale: 2009 Nissan 370Z in COVINA, CA 91722: Coupe Details - 288130319 - AutoTrader.com

carvalho360 12-01-2010 11:58 AM

it took me 3 months to find my salvage. its hard work... but if he dropped the price from 21 to 18.5 i feel like theres something hes not admitting...and sorry i meant slight frame damage on mine..idk about the one you're referring too :P
