Meh. They picked a base gt with a driver that admitted he has no track experience and will be running on his crappy all seasons.

Because this competition is being held in Houston, Texas.

Even still, no track experience and a tune still put him in the mid 12s, we all know what it takes a 370z to do that and they pick a 350z.
I still think it should be a 5.0 v SS as that would be a true fair comparison.

So they're going with modified rides.. It's all pretty pointless then. The winner depends on how much money they have to spend on their cars. Pointless.

Hey you guys I contacted them and gave me the green light to see if I wanted to run that day instead of the modified 350z. Unfortunatly my car is bone stock to the tires and I have minimal track experience...I'm not sure quite yet if I can make it though. If they let me I could let one of my friends with some track experience drive it. Anyway they also told me the 0-100-0 would be changed to a slalom or a figure 8 as well

Nice Chris! That is awesome you ponied up to take the challenge, you have the 7AT which will help a bunch at the drag strip and you have the sports package so assuming your friend can drive, you will be in good shape.

Throw on some K&N panel filters and a set of ebay test tipes and you'll pick up some decent power on the cheap.

Just for the record I stepped up and forumwars even asked me to commit and i did. That was the last time i heard from them. It would be nice to see what a TT setup would do against a modded 5.0. Oh well i tried to represent us. I even found them a GTR to Race the 996tt. I wonder why they didnt contact me back?

I am out of town, the other boosted Z is to heavily modded now so it would be completely unfair.
Like I said, I contacted a few people that I thought might do this but they really did not care.

I think the guy from the show said "No Superchargers or Turbos" meaning no boost right? I just now saw this thread. Guess it's too late, seeing that the show is tomorrow??? But I have no track experience either. But a few mods on a 7AT to include exhaust, hfc, intake, brand new summer tires and coilovers being installed this weekend. A friend of mine could drive I suppose, so I don't look like a dufus on TV hahaha.

Well looks like I cant participate tomorrow. Its a full day commitment and i just don't have the time. Sorry guys...

Chriz they might have been considering you still, so I called them this time, and left a message saying you referred me. My friend had called the first time and they just told him no right away.

It could have been me, the modified 350z or maybe someone else. I never gave them a full commitment but have been sending emails about it.
I really hope you get the chance though

The 350z that was picked was a show car, but highly modified by the looks of it.
