Porsche Carrera S - CHECK

So i was driving today and i get to a red light and in front of me is a looooong stretch of straight road with nobody around. then i look to my left and theres a gentleman in his 30-40's staring at my car from inside his 08 yellow carrera s convertible. I turn my VDC off and at first im not going fast at all, i go up to around 20 in first gear and i see him from my left side mirror accelerating quickly so i put my right foot down and flick through the gears via paddles. Long story short, not only did I keep up to 100, my car was sticking its nose out in front the entire time.
Of course I dont condone doing this on the street and honestly do regret doing it in the first place...but i cant shake the feeling of happiness i have that my 28k 370z can take a 60k+ Porsche.

I'm curious to know what cars everyone else has beaten?

It is against forum rules to discuss street racing.

So today I pull up to a light and I look over to my right. Next to me is a Sesto Elemento. The owner looks over at me, I look back at him...I blow him a kiss. Then the light turns green. I flick through my 6MT with rapid fire precision. I was with him through 190mph but then he started to pull on me. By 248mph, he was a few lengths ahead and I decided to back off. Go Z!

This is a car forum, why can't we talk about racing? It's part of the enthusiast world whether you like to admit it or not. Yes illegal, but no, not illegal to talk about. Edgy stories are always more fun.

*Also good to point out, as long as the OP is discrete... it could have happened on a track day right? ;)

Besides it being explicitly stated in the forum rules that discussing illegal activity, even specifically street racing, is against the rules...

It is a dangerous endeavor. It also leaves you open to any law enforcement officers who may be lurking the site. Regardless of one's personal opinion, the site cannot outwardly endorse or condone it, and the user base doesn't need to discuss it. Besides, a list of "kills" is just d***waving anyway. Who cares?

This is a sponsored forum. I imagine that has something to do with it.

Edit: Oh yeah, street racing is incredibly stupid.

Did it ever cross your mind that the other car and/or driver was just playing with you????:)

It seems funny when we think we are faster and when a sleeeper kills us. I never try to race anyone as I know that someone will always be faster than me.

What do you mean "when a sleeeper kills us"? I hope you're not referring to that all out drag car made out of a granny mobile from the other thread.

The incredible thing about street racing is that those involved risk everything for no more gain than feeling good about themselves for 20 seconds. If you need that kind of meaningless ego boost, you should be seeking professional help.

+1

To add, if you need that kind of meaningless-, immature-, imaginary ego boost, you need to grow up. Or go to the track.

When I was young and stupid the ego boost would last much much longer than 20 seconds. ;)

It's been a while since I've been reckless so I don't know if it lasts that long anymore.

street racing is deffiantly not safe but I am sure alot of us do it or have done it. I'm not saying everyone, i'm just saying most.

If you just go to where you pull or the other guy pulls and then stop, I see no reall issue. It's when ppl want to do a full fledge 1/4 or up to, idk, 120, then it becomes pretty unsafe. Or on roads that are not straight, narrow, or you never been on.

Like stated above this should not be mentioned on forums. If mentioned then hide it and re-word to make it seem as if it was done at the track. OP made it obvious he was street racing and all the way up to or above 100 :shakes head:

KEEP IT AT THE TRACK, THAT IS WHERE YOU GET NOTICED AND CHANCE AT SPONSORSHIPS ECT>>>

Hey Triple's, completely off topic, but did you know Nintendo's recently filed a trademark application for the phrase, "It's on like Donkey Kong"? Made me laugh when I heard about it.

If you did then I guess that's why you're Avatar quote is what it is. Heh :rofl2:

Sounds about right. Good run. Keep it on your XBOX.

Me?

NSX
996 Carrera
S2KfromHell on a street-tune (he was traction-limited).
heads/cam/full bolt-ons '99 mustang GT
Cammed LT1 Trans Am
SR20DET 240SX
Full bolt-on 265whp 350Z
Challenger R/T
05+ Mustang GTs.
S54 Z4M

Those are just the wins that stick out in my mind.

Losses:
V10 M5 (After we hit 4th, he left)
CL63AMG (lots...)
Blown 99-04 GT (by a few feet)
Shelby GT500 (3-4 cars 60-115)
Rumored FI 350Z (1 car 60-115 every time, sounds logical as the turbo 350 I ran was about = to me and this one seemed a bit better tuned based on the lack of shooting flames out the back)

This all occured on XBOX.

Less than 500 people died last year due to street-racing.
Over 100K people died last year due to complications from obesity.
:stirthepot:

destinyZ 11-13-2010 10:35 AM

The stats given say ppl dead not accidents/injuries. given the correct conditions then there isnt much of an issue but the fact that its not a controlled enviorment makes it unsafe. thats 500 ppl that could be alive.

im just saying its not safe because you never know the mental state of the drivers around you etc... That is y there is a track, to create a controlled enviorment to help eliminate/lessen potential hazards.
