"Unlisted" model year changes

Nissan, like Toyota, seems very reluctant to reveal anything but feature upgrades from year to year. An example of this is that the nav unit is completely different on the 2010 (compared to the 2009). This caught NavTool and others by surprise. I know it affected my backup camera install. Fortunately, someone here had already run into this.

That got me thinking. Are there other changes between 2009 and 2010?

2010 Z's are jam-packed with more awesome from factory. Of course, that's just from what I've read.

It's actually a very good question, I am sure manufacturers also make unannounced mid year changes to fix problems and improve quality. I have never really come across a concise list of these on line

Actually, the changed Navigation/Stereo were documented by Nissan, just not all the technical details of how the internals changed to support USB music devices and higher resolution Navigation screen.

However, I would not be surprised if there are other running changes that are less well documented, such as the improved piston seal to prevent excessive oil consumption.

Isn't there a difference between the 09 and 10 TPMS? There's a TSB about it.

Different Key fob...

Possibly some minor ECU tweaks -- for starters, fixing whatever caused the mysterious 09 ECU whine.

wilsonp 11-12-2010 04:42 PM

Whine possibly caused by capacitors so a better assembly or better caps would have fixed it.

They change the year plates from 2009 to 2010. Significant change.

I love new car smell, too, but apparently there are studies being done to determine how toxic the air is that causes that smell. :bowrofl: whoops.

6spd 11-12-2010 07:46 PM

yeah supposedly car manu's are creating ways to remove that smell before the cars hit the showrooms...
