yah, im sure they are very functional. if they could rid the line like modern bifocal glasses that would be even better. not that i wear bifocals... (yet? :ugh:) |
if blind spots keep you from buying a car then your priorities are wacky.
that being said the Z does have issues, but nothing a slight move of the head doesnt fix. |
We need carbon fiber periscope for our cars because we so low...... :)

I'd love to know if the side mount exhaust is real, or if those are stick on parts as well. Edit: Found more pics, definitely fake, ******* tool. |

but the left mirror housing was blocking the view while i was making left-hand turns so that was my reason for getting the cs. the convex lens that they come with was just an added bonus. no need to shoulder check any more. |
My passenger side mirror is "out" all the way, and the driver's side is out pretty far, to minimize the blind spots.
It's not a sedan with tons of glass or anything but you can manage it. |
Proper way to set mirrors..
There is only one way to properly set mirrors in any car........
For the driver side mirror, roll up the window and press your head against the glass. Adjust the mirror so that you can just see the edge of the car. For the passenger side mirror, place your head in the center of the car (directly behind the inside mirror mount) and adjust the outside mirror so that you can just see the edge of the car. This is necessary even with convex (curved) mirrors where the image is distorted a little. When you’re in your normal driving position, you won’t be able to see the sides of the car but will be able to see other vehicles in the adjacent lanes. - See more at: How To Adjust Your Side-View Mirrors |
I just pull up next to a car on a side street. I put the car in the "blind spot" and then adjust the mirror. It's not that hard.

Blind Spot mirrors -- Any recos?
I'm going to go hunt for a set of blind spot mirrors.
Wondering if anyone has found any they like and look okay. For those who don't know the term, something like this: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...A400_SH20_.jpg |

There's really no noticeable blind spot at all anymore. Buy a 2014 and don't worry about a thing man. The Z of today (2014) has better mirrors and windows then my daily driver....prius. |

anyone have a side by side comparison? i cant image why they would make it even bigger when the mirror was already obstructing view for left-hand turns. |
I have the one inch convex mirrors that I placed on the far bottom corner of both mirrors, have had them in all my rides therefore I'm used to them :driving:

What blindspot?
|
I have Zoom Engineering mirrors. Works well. But if you rely on the heated mirror feature, you will no longer be able to use it. It is a convex mirror that fits over your stock mirrors.

Really? Hmmm. I wonder if they are convex?
I'll have to take a look. I have not had any issues with blind spots. Either I drive too fast to have any car in there long enough or I used the information provided to properly adjust my mirrors. |
Blind spot? I don't know how that little mirror on my car is gonna help others see me coming up from behind.
|
With or without mirrors I'm always aware of my surroundings.............GL..

I used to need blind spot mirrors until I realized having a bad driving habit.
Long story short: I used to position my side mirrors in a way, that showed my car's body when looking in them. I eventually figured out this was sorta of silly: if something was that close to me, there'd be no way to avoid it. I now position my side mirrors, where they don't show the body of my car, but would if I just moved them a centimeter over. Poof. No more blindspots. I know that doesn't work for everyone, but I think I'm not the only person who positions their mirrors in a way that "shows too much of your own car" in them. |

Looking at their website it says this: "Note: These mirrors were designed for RHD vehicles, which come convex on the driver side. LHD vehicles will require extra double sided tape on the passenger side to cover the gap in between (extra tape not included). Failure to use proper mounting may result in the mirror becoming disconnected, causing damage to the mirror." Did either of you have any issues since this kit is for RHD? Here's the link I think? I can't comment on the comparison with earlier models, but my 2014 definitely has blind spots--at least for me. |
I do the mirror adjustment method, I do not have blind spots anmore. Just need to do a quick glance in the mirror, no car, swith lanes.
