Sorry. As part of your question you asked I am very curious why people say things like what you have said. I provided you an answer for some, as you asked. And you took it personally as a criticism.

Do you fly?
Do you use any goods transported by Penn Central Railroad?
Do you have insurance through AIG?
Did you use any of the "stimulus" money "given" to the public?

If you answered "yes" to any of the above--again--don't come at me with "I'm a person of principal" and then knock me or those who decide to buy a GM because they view it as the best choice for them.

I did not realize I knocked you. Where did I not say I would not buy a GM nor should you. I can answer no to all of the above excepting the Penn Central Railroad since I have no idea what it encompasses, but I do benefit indirectly from all the above I am sure.

You STRONGLY implied I was not a "principled person".

If you did, then I am surprised because fighting and dying for your believes, or principles, is paramount, to Marines.
Government Motors as opposed to General Motors, since we tax payers bailed out GM & Chrysler. Ford on the other hand has managed their debt and finances far better and did not need federal money.
So I want a Z wants to reward the worthy company. Remember GM refused to pay down debt during the good times. Then held out a hand when things got tough.

Neither... I think the interior on both cars are hideous!!! When I buy a car, the interior and exterior both have to be on par. Before I bought my Z, I was looking at trucks. I narrowed it down to the Tacoma X-Runner and the Frontier. I hated the the steering wheel on the Frontier so I went with the X-Runner!

Sorry, for the miscommunication. Principles can be rational to one and irrational to another, just like joining the Corps. Your original question implied why would some one do something that you see as irrational.
My uncle would not buy a Jap (German,or Itallian) car on principle, as they were the enemy. He only bought GM and International Harvester. I've bought Datsun-Nissans for years. I remember his lecture to me. Your principles, his and mine can all be different, without anyone being unprincipled. My uncle suffered problems with his crummy 1970's and 1980's GM cars on principle , even if it was irrational.

When you mentioned your gyrine roommate didn't have anything against imports, whom would he have considered his enemy anyway? North Korea, Viet Nam, Grenada, Iraq? These places don't export cars.

I still take plenty of heat for not buying American. Again somebody elses principles.

Why does it matter, as long as it works?

We don't know yet, the car is too new. If the customer satisfaction has been good enough down the line, I will be open to changing my mind. Aston Martin etc., is another league... its like, when Bed Bath & Beyond sells $100 sheets from India, in spite of the outsourcing, they maintain some quality standards. But in $30 sheets imported, there's a little fuzzy-ness, which I will eliminate based on customer opinion once the 2010 Camaro's are old enough and there's evidence they didn't break.. till then, sticking to old school.. Just playing it safe, specially when its the first bunch of huge savings for a 20'somethin

I would go with the mustang because camaros are everywhere here in Atlanta. I probably see 5 or 6 a day

GZ3 10-27-2010 04:08 PM

i cant see why anyone would pick the new camaro over the 370Z!...the 5.0 is the best bang for the buck, easily...its between the 5.0 and 370Z...i got a 370Z, and also wrapping up a deal on a 5.0! mwahahahaah!

SophiaZ 10-27-2010 05:13 PM

Wow..now yall are talking about the Z06?! Pssshh, let me get my hands on a Audi R8.... I don't like cars that are all over the road...Corvette, Mustangs, and Neons..oh wait..I did have 3:shakes head:

sonic370 10-27-2010 07:15 PM

funny how a lot of people are banging on the interior's of the stang and the camaro. compared to the early mustang and camaro's they have improved somewhat. anyone who comes from the 350 can relate to that.

like i first said if i had to it would be the camaro, it would beat walking...

having owned a 350, c5 vette, and know a 370.... the only thing i miss
is that good old sound and torque of a V8

SophiaZ 10-27-2010 07:26 PM

Sorry, we're not living in 1970's...no need for a 2010 interior to imitate the original. I love the Camaro's but that's pathetic IMO The interior is way too dated. You's have seen the improvements from the 350 to 370's... I think someone can agree here. Everything needs an update here and there.

Most people care more about the exterior of a car. It's a profit boosting strategy that has worked pretty well. Doesn't really seem to hurt sales all that much. As sales drop off, they will most likely step up the interior quality.

sonic370 10-28-2010 07:18 AM

I don't think you can compare the interior's of the 70's mustang and camaro
with todays. no way both are not 100 times better in fit and finish not to
mention rattles. just like i wouldn't want any interior of any 70's z

in some form all 3 car makers have tried to make the interiors a flash back to the disco days. as for the z im referring to the 3 pods on the middle dash.
