Show Car or Modified Insurance?

Does anyone know where we can get “show car” or “modified” insurance?

I called up Hagerty, and they require that my wife and I both own separate vehicles that are 2005 or newer. Also, due to the mileage 15K+ per year, that also bumped us out.

It will not be a daily driver, but we drive to our events. I.e. Las Vegas is around 2,300 miles one way. Well, that is almost 5K miles right there. We are scheduled to go twice this year.

I keep everyone posted so it will help out in the future.

Thanks!

Dean

Dean I have barked up this tree for months... do you have a spotless record? also how many miles do you plan on putting on the car? All the major showcar insurance companies really crack down on mileage and your record. i.e. less than 5k miles a year and no more than 1 moving violation in the past 3yrs... its retarded... All I want is a supplemental insurance that covers the extras. I dont mind paying extra...

So far Hagerty is out. (Just because of my situation noted above, they are a great insurance company.)

American Collectors Insurance, formally known as American Hobbyist, has my application. We will see if it gets approved. It seems like I passed all the pre-qualification questions. We will see.

I have been told Grundy has good reviews and ratings. I will check there next

I hear that the rates drop drastically with the age of the car, even for the same stated value. So, I will have to claim exotic. :ugh2:

Information supplied by "SilverTwin(OH) from twinturbo.net" (Yes, I owned a z32 for a couple of years. Still love the car)

Talk to Jeremy and Danya. They have state farm, I thunk and had an agreed value policy on their last two cars. You just tell them how much you want to insure it for. I did the same with progressive n my 350z
