could someone email me or post a picture of the factory bose setup? I would like to see what you are talking about getting. is the touring model the only type that could accomodate this upgrade?

Hey Tyler,

For Bose, the subwoofer is inside a cylindrical enclosure that fits the spare wheel hub. Your existing box design should work for any 370Z since it doesn't get in the way of the spare wheel.

Your box design fits the concept I drew up over a month ago, so I can finally squeeze in a 12" sub without sacrificing trunk space.

basically if he were to build that it would be subwoofer specific, and it would have to downward firing subwoofer enclosure. Kinda hard to do with a universal enclosure box.

I still say build one where there is no spare at all.

I am looking for someone to build me a custom subwoofer enclosure that will replace the spare tire location for a stealth installation. Here is a design that someone on this site had done based on the JL Audio T13W5 subwoofer.

i wouldnt want to lose the spare tire. just my opinion.

Lose the spare and get AAA Gold. They take you up to 150 miles for free, no questions asked. Lose the spare and even better the weight of the spare.

My car is not a daily driver and will rarely leave town so spare tire is not something I really need. I have emergency roadside service on my insurance policy anyway. The tire being removed will help counteract the added weight of the subwoofer.

but for others the car is a daily driver..
