I think my neighbor (he has a Boxster) said something to the effect of, "those are really big brakes." :)

I have a bunch of middle and high school kids in my neighborhood. They are always stopping and talking to me about the car. It's kind of fun when I drive down the street and they all stop to watch.

i think someone will make large dressup brake caliper covers that goes all around the inside of the wheel to show who's boss.

I've gotten more compliments on this car in the last 2 months than i've had on ANY of my previous cars. No certain age range or race... pretty much everybody. I get a handful of stares every time i leave the house and at least a few people a week verbally complimenting on it. Makes me feel all warm and tingly inside:supergay:
|
Ive never had a woman comment on mine (maybe cuz they expect a guy to be driving?)...but the car always gets looks & comments from white men - of all ages..kids will always turn all the way around & point. That will NEVER get old. love it!

I park my Z dead front of my restaurant and every middle aged, and some 50+, that comes in compliment my car. I offer them free drinks to those who compliments my Z. lol.
This one time I was at my church with bunch of my friends (mostly girls) and all of a sudden one of the church member (some jealous d-bag) comes up to me and says he doesnt like my 370z.....(obviously trying to look cool to insult my Z infront of everyone) I asked him what was wrong with it, and he just said "i dunno, I just dont like it". And I just simply said "yeah, but better than driving a volvo right? (he owned some POS volvo) |

maybe he thinks his volvo's 5 cylinder motor is the $hit...

When you have a car that has been in production for 40 years you are undoubtedly going to get a lot of people between the ages of 40 and 70 who owned some version of the Z in the past and have fond, nostalgic memories of it. I get a lot of compliments from soccer moms and teenagers. There's a MILF in my neighborhood with a Miata who gives me a big smile every time we pass, so never used to when I had my G35 even though that car got a lot of compliments as well. When I first got my 370Z a bunch of the engineers I work with all made me go out to the parking lot and pop the hood. Not that there is a lot to see on a modern car engine, but we were all standing around like old time car geeks looking under the hood which was kind of cool.

Pretty much everyone...
I've gotten complements on my NISMO from people of all races, age groups, and genders. The first day I brought it to work, I pulled up to a stop sign on my way home... Some hot chicks all dressed up for a night out were walking by, and one yelled, "Hey! Nice car!" First time that's ever happened to me. I've had complements on other vehicles I've owned (my Xterra and my Tiburon) but always from adult men (on the Xterra), sometimes also from kids (again mostly boys) on the Tib.
Now, I'm an odd sort of guy... sometimes I like to take my fast Z and drive about 60 up the middle lane (never the left lane) of Rt. 3 (speed limit is 55, but most drive about 70). Naturally I'll have a steady stream of cars passing me on both sides. It amuses me to watch people's expressions change as they pass me! Starting off, I get the disdainful frown for driving like a jackass, which changes to approval/awe as they get a closer look. Very satisfying. What's most interesting about that is seeing all the middle-aged and even older women craning to get a better look... Never expected that! |

My dad made fun of me when I told him about all the looks and compliments I was getting... until he saw that look of awe himself on the faces of some of his neighbors as they jogged past my Z parked in his driveway. ;) |
I will admit over the past couple of months iv'e gotten more comments than normal, really can't say why. All ages and race. Just this morning some older guy meaning in his late sixties while i was at the gas station ask me "what do you got in there a v6 or v8!!! He was driving a dodge ram truck.
same old question how fast will it go. it seems like most people think we buy these cars to drive them 140 all the time. for better or worse these cars do attract attention........... |
1) at a gas station, a big black guy came up and said "don't do anything to it, it's so hawt" lol
2) at walmart, a middle aged white man and woman came up and said they used to have a 300zx but that the new ones were by far better looking, then the woman said, "enough look, lets get back in our car... that focus..." xD 3) at subway, an old white man started talking to me about his old Z and how the new ones look so much nicer The coolest thing is that every time you pass an SUV/Van, all of the kids in the back stare at you. You know you're doing something right ;) |
My kid sister loves it when I pick her up at school in the Z every once in a while. I gotta admit, I'm a little flattered when all the kids turn and stare.
I wonder if the GT-R gets the same reaction as the Z to women. Its an impressive machine, but for the most part, mostly guys know what it is. Surprisingly, I had more girls come up to me when I had my RX-8, but I think it had to do with the car being red and shiny. |

or when the passenger in another car that passes you turns all the way around to look and points at your car. Quote:

The other day I was with my girlfriend in her Camry when a GTR passed us. I pointed it out to her and she asked "What's so special about that car?" |
The AA people are cooler, more open and very vocal about what they think. So I am not surprised that this may lead us to believe they like it more than others.

Then I owned a MINI. That was a grandma magnet. But you know, cool grandmas. Except when gas was approaching $5 a gallon. Then everyone asked me what MPGs I had achieved (the answer, in case you are wondering is 40 mpg cruising at 60 mph, windows up, no AC). Now I get the looks with the Z others describe and some "nice car!" comments. No particular demographic. Although there is a cute jogger I pass every now and again and I always get a double take from her (funny, she doesn't do that when I'm driving my Mazda:confused:) |

I always get a nod from middle aged white men. A few younger white women. Its funny that this thread popped up. A friend of mine just got his 370Z and was telling me middle aged Black men all commented on his car. He's White I'm Black... Go figure.
|
I would say that 90% of my compliments come from middle aged black guys who are driving a truck. I usually get a comment like "How fast does that thing go?".
|
I always got compliments from pretty much all demographics, black, white, asian, old, young, you name it. Thats what I miss, only people that glare and comment on my Stang is old retirees and people who were lusting after or owned the original 5.0 foxbody :/
|
Haha, I get probably 75% of the looks with the 5.0 that I did with the 370. One thing that remains true is that chicks like Zs and chicks like Mustangs. That will always be!

Everyone seems to like this car, old and young alike, black, hispanic, asian. Women who are environmentally friendly and drive high mileage vehicles, have complimented me or asked for rides ( I was expecting criticism).
Here is a new one, people offer me their old Z's for sale. Just yesterday an old P-47 pilot offered me his 1982 280ZX turbo. |
