weird!!!
Started about 2 weeks ago when i turn the wheel to the right my horn goes off! It doesnt do every single time but it will happen couple times daily. Especially embarrassing when im in a parking lot and ppl think im doing it towards them. Took it in for a oil change so im waiting for a call. what would cause this?

Could be a faulty horn switch.

Best bet is to only make left turns.

Oh man. I had this problem on one of my old cars. It was pretty embarrassing honking at everyone on accident. At one point, a cop was walking to his car in front of me when I was turning. HOOOONNNNKKK. He looked pissed. I held my hands up to show I wasn't doing it and then he smiled. Told me to fix it. I later pulled the fuse. :)

UPDATE:
Just got the car back and the mechanic said it was the spindle. part should arrive by thursday and its covered under warranty. when i was turning onto my street it went off again..can i just pull the fuse? he also said i had a huge oil leak from the oil cooler because the shop that installed it put in the orginal oil filter which u cant do. It takes a fram oil filter thats a different size |
The Z is possess!

I had this problem in my 82 vette. Every so often when I'd turn left, the car would honk for no reason. I ignored it, hoping it would go away.
Couple weeks went by, it kept happening. I was driving home, turning left, and the wheel locked up. Couldn't turn, hit a street sign. A bit more embarassing than the horn going off, but both caused by the same thing it turns out. Once I got home and took off the steering wheel, it turned out there was a screw loose and moving around. When it hit the right spot, it would engage the horn. When it got stuck, it locked up the wheel. Good times... |
