Ever wish you had back seats?

Just out of curiosity, have you ever been in a position where you wish you had the back seats? I have a Mazdaspeed3 and maybe used the back seats 6 times in the 2 years I owned the car.....I'm getting a Z in a few weeks and the only doubt in my mind is having to use the back seats for whatever reason.

TongMan 10-11-2010 09:01 AM

If I wanted back seats I wouldve kept my mazdaspeed3. I don't really like driving people around and cleaning after them, that is why I got a 2 seater.

ClemsonWill 10-11-2010 09:09 AM

:iagree:

The more seats you have the more people you will be expected to drive around. More people = more damage to your Z.

2 seater FTW!

m4a1mustang 10-11-2010 09:11 AM

There were only a few times with the Z where I really needed an extra seat or two, but it was never an issue. It is nice to have the capability to cram two people in the back of the Mustang, though.

AtlantaDave 10-11-2010 09:15 AM

I think if you've used your backseat only 6 times in the last 2 years, you won't miss it at all.

Good luck and hope to see pics of your Z soon!

kenchan 10-11-2010 09:16 AM

No I do not want rear seats on my Z. I have another car to do utility stuff.

cab83_750 10-11-2010 09:20 AM

Nope.

And hopefully, Nissan does not make a 2+2 370Z --- I remember the 280Z 2+2 and boy, they sure looked upgly.

m4a1mustang 10-11-2010 09:20 AM

Yeah, there's no need for a 2+2 Z! That's what the G37 is for.

Exactly right. :iagree:

racerxj17 10-11-2010 09:28 AM

this is whats making me consider trading in my Z....... i cant put enough "stuff" in it. beach, costco trip, more than 2 people, ect. financially, its tight right now as well.

been considering a scion XB. go ahead, laugh :icon18:

m4a1mustang 10-11-2010 09:29 AM

Oh god... A Z to a Scion? C'mon... at least get something that's still kind of fast!

Like a Juke! :icon18:

Red370 10-11-2010 10:15 AM

Buy Felt's Mazdaspeed3. On paper it approximates an RX8, but with storage. You have the 370 he wants. Could be a match made in heaven.
With the Z, Extra passengers and storage such as Costco means using the little ladies car.

here was my situation, being in the military, I leave alot on training exercises, which means lugging alot of gear around. I also have alot of coworkers that need rides from time to time and I kinda felt like a dick every now and then for not being able to give them a ride. I decided i needed a back seat but didnt want to sacrifice performance so I got the 5.0, dont get a Scion man, you'll never be happy with it, get something with a little bit of juice so you dont regret getting rid of the Z as much, if you cant afford a Stang, check out a WRX, excellent cars for the money.

vipor 10-11-2010 10:19 AM

I don't!!

Before my Z I had a POS Dodge Spirit. You can fit up to 7 ppl in it, 5 comfortably-ish. I was always the taxi. Now I still drive a lot, but that's just because I want to be on my own schedule.

Plus you don't need a backseat. Having sex in the passenger seat works just fine.

Cell 10-11-2010 10:37 AM

I don't miss my back seats at all. When I had my RSX, I would only use the back seats maybe 1-2 a year. That isn't a joke either. The back seats was used as my storage location. Worst part is cleaning up after people. I would find stuff I did not know was even back there.

My friend with an RSX typically just leaves his rear seats folded down..

Mike 10-11-2010 12:17 PM

no, but I also have an expedition.

LuckyJinx 10-11-2010 12:25 PM

When you have more than two seats you start to hear... "Could you drop so and so and I off at...." very frequently I'm afraid.

FERRARI 10-11-2010 12:47 PM

They sure did !!!!!

So true. My buddy has an SUV and he always has to drive so everyone can fit in one car.

I will say it again. You don't want all those dirty people in your car at once.

Exactly. I don't drive my car so I can clean up after people.

Punk86 10-11-2010 01:14 PM

My last car was a Tiburon and I avoided people riding in the back like it was the plague. Now I actually have a legit excuse as to why I cant give everyone a ride home :D

JACKPAC 10-11-2010 01:25 PM

One time when I wasn't able to give a ride to a girl from one bar to another who was wanting to make out with my wife.

cab83_750 10-11-2010 01:40 PM

I have yet to see a 4-seater sports car where the backseat do not require the passengers in the back to have "no legs". :)

bluelion 10-11-2010 01:55 PM

if you think you'll "need" back seats eventually, get a beater 4dr and use that for those times (grocery shopping, hauling stuff, extra passengers, etc..)

Not me. I've been an empty-nester for about 5 years now. Don't miss the back seat at all!

mick 10-11-2010 02:30 PM

not me because i have other cars to drive if i need to use the back seats.

Jordo! 10-11-2010 03:29 PM

No.

Backseats are good for only two things: Transporting passengers and screwing in public.

I'm not a taxi and I prefer bedrooms to backseats.

In this case, one can sit on the other's lap; problem solved and much hotter.

Elaboration: You have to kneel in the floorboard.
