Good luck with the new 'Vette.

i've got 82k on my stock pads right now and they're still going strong (and it's not like i don't drive it hard from time to time  ) clutch is still good too thank goodness :)

enjoy the new vette, the C6 is by far the best vette ever... my first mod would be some nice new seats as i have never liked them in those cars

you're right, the seat belts feel very flimsy and loose
the 350 I felt nice and strapped in

Honestly I think they don't give the base 'Vettes too much bolstering to allow for easier ingress/egress for the... umm... older gentlemen. ;)

yup, among other reasons................. *cough, gluttony, cough*

GM doesn't give the seats in the C6 much of anything. The base seats lack the adjustments and the perforated leather of the 2LT and up seats, but they are basically the same seats otherwise. Regardless all C6 seats are pretty bad. How many sports cars do you know that when you slam on brakes the back of the passenger seat flops forward if no one is sitting in it.

well, I'm 42, so I don't think I'm quite in that category, but yes the seats and seatbelts are disappointing

I am a great big fat man, and I disagree. The seats are taht way because I love the krispy kremes and can't stop eating even when I'm no longer hungry, and plus because it's fun. Also, I don't exercise enough.

Easier ingress/egress than a salad bar. If you'll excuse me, I must now defile myself with frosted pastry and/or cheesy/salty empty carb feed.

sonic370 10-08-2010 07:41 PM

Been there done that also. I've had a 350,370, and a c5.

you will get use to the larger c6 and the way it handle's.
and that v8 nuff said. imho it's the one car that attract's as much attention
as the 370. the vette is the only car i would trade in my z for.

enjoy your new american muscle..........

yep...50 miles commute each direction from west palm beach to broward county every day...
the Z was totally problem free except for some early oil consumption
like i mentioned only changed tires and did scheduled maintenance

I'm always interested in what cars draw people away from the Z. I love my Z, but know from my own history that I'll be looking for something new in a few years. So I'm in for an update on how you like the Vette as you get used to it!

I hope that I get used to the size of the car, as of now that is the thing that most bothers me ..I was able to throw my 350Z around like a go kart..and the Corvette feels like a boat in comparison so far. The seats in the 350 were also better in my opinion.

The 370Z has the best seats out there under 100K that aren't in a porsche, imho.

The 'vette just feels big because it is wide and you see the fenders up front. It's lighter than a 370Z and handles equally well to better in every comparison I have seen. The fenders up front in your field of view just make it feel big to you.

Yeah, but the cool thing is by the time you hit the brakes, whatever WAS beside you is too far back to notice, and if it is flopping forward, there are no passengers (obviously) to laugh at you. It's your own dirty little secret. ;)

that is true..the fenders up front make the car feel like a cruise ship
i definitely prefer the tighter dimension of the Z
