370z Factory Service Manual

Does anyone have a copy of the manual already? I think one of the most important things for a DIYer is the manual. It pretty much tells you everything you need to know.

If no one has it yet, anyone interested in doing a group buy? i think it costs 20 dollars for a subscription to the nissan tech site. If 4 or 5 of us can chip in, it'll only be around 4-5 dollars.

PM me! Thanks

Owners Manual/Service Section
Should be able to find it here.

Hey, I think AK is looking for more rep points! ;)

modme 03-11-2009 01:09 PM

Here is the link to it:

Nissan Publications

You can just purchase a 1-day subscription. It'll let you download all the nissan and infiniti service manuals you want for 1 day.

Thanks!

Admins on this site are awesome!

You'd have to do far too many page dumps; not worth it.

modme 03-11-2009 01:17 PM

^nah, it'll give you PDF files. You can download them and view as long as your heart desires.

modme 03-11-2009 01:18 PM

Trust me guys, I've been with 350z, G35, and G37 for 4 years now. I have the manual for all these cars for all years. Just dont have the 370z one yet because it's so new.

nogoodname 03-11-2009 01:18 PM

wow...so, just 19.99 for one day and download all of them one shot

modme 03-11-2009 01:19 PM

So, if I were to buy 1 day subscription, I can download the whole service manual? Nissan will probably disable saving feature, don't you think? On CD is $210. I'll look into this tonight.

SoCal 370Z 03-11-2009 01:21 PM

Hey members let's throw-in to help AK out. I will donate $10 (AK PM on how to do so). Come on you cheap bastards, ante-up!

modme 03-11-2009 01:23 PM

^ There is no anti save feature. I've done this before. After you pay the 1 day description, it'll let you access all the individual PDF files for all the cars. Just click on them and it'll open as a PDF. Click on the save button and you can save it. It's a lot cheaper and you can get it right away instead of waiting for the CD. Plus, you can get all the manuals not just the 370z one.

Okay, maybe a bit harsh for the genteel members here so revised it should read:

Dear Members,

Our fellow moderator and enthusiast AK370Z has taken it upon himself to purchase—from his own funds—the Factory Service manual. Owed to the cost of said Service Manual is would behoove others who benefit at this forum to perhaps consider a small donation to offset said fee in support of both the forum and AK370Z.

Respectfully,
SoCal 370

AK370Z 03-11-2009 01:44 PM

Thank you socal370z. I appreciate your gesture. No donation is needed. I want The370Z.com to be the no. 1 370Z resource. Getting our own service manual is a step forward.

I bought the service manual for our forum. I think it'll be a great asset. I am going to make a thread tonight where you will be able to request info on a specific part/section. I'll basically list the "Table of contents" and from there you will be able to ask what you need.

Thanks.

modme 03-11-2009 01:50 PM

^ can you post transmission. I'm interested in the syncros rev match and seeing if i can retrofit to my g37. Thanks

modme 03-11-2009 01:51 PM

It's probably easier just to post the whole thing. I believe there's around 20 different PDF files.

modme 03-11-2009 01:52 PM

I'm glad i started this thread. The response speed is amazing! This forum gets things done! FAST!

haha

I have to leave now. Please come back tonight. Also, please verify your email address to see attachments. Currently your status isn't full Registered user.

If AK makes it accessible to premium members only, he'll see a ton of 'donations' I'm sure! And it just so happens that premium membership costs $10. ;)

Damn Semtex, other than your armory, that's a great idea!

modme 03-11-2009 07:55 PM

I think I agree. That's not a bad idea at all. I think i'll create a "Request" section in the premium members area where premium members will request what info they need and I'll just post it there. I am going to make an official announcement on this later this weekend. Also, if I see a thread in the tech section(or any other section) or a member desperately needs certain tech info in a thread, I'll just post the info. After all, lets not forget, our site is all about helping other fellow Z enthusiasts.

Thanks

No offense to AK or the other admins/mods, but I feel like things like Service Manuals should be open to all as it will only help strengthen the DIY community and the aftermarket support.

To that end I grabbed the entirety of the 2009 370Z service manual and threw it up on Scribd for everyone to use:
2009 370Z Service Manual Folder | Scribd

The money to grab it came out of my own pocket, but I feel it was a worthwhile investment. I hope this won't be an issue, but please let me know if it is!

Nope no issue at all. I only want what's best for our members. You're more than welcome to make a thread in this section http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-o...rvice-manuals/ and post this info in a thread titled "2009 370Z Service Manual". Making it available for Premium Members was just an idea and as you can see I didn't announce anything over the weekend because I usually do a lot of brainstorming/reasoning before I make any decision.

Awesome I made the thread over there. Thanks AK!

semtex 03-17-2009 07:48 AM

I'm not offended either, Golex. (I'm not a mod but I was the one who made the suggestion of charging for access.) For the record, I also want what's best for the members. But sometimes we have to balance that with what's best for the forum itself. In other words, if the forum owner doesn't make enough revenue to at least cover the costs of keeping the thing running, then in the long term the forum may not be sustainable (i.e., it'd be discontinued). And that would not be good for anyone! That was the only thing motivating my suggestion.
