On the way home from mitsuwa some ricor neon flew past my honda fit blowing off his POS turbo. He had more rice than the 3 bags of nishiki rice I had in the trunk. :D

then we're all in agreement 220kmh is just about the sweet spot of the 370 then.. i think the small-ish torque figure is probably to blame as well, had a supra last time and it would run up to 260 no problems.
and yeah, i'm not in the US nor in japan where presumably the car's limited to 180. my daily 30min stint to work sometimes takes me to 180 if im lucky so that's why I brought up the 220-260 since I'm curious to see what it can do. my GTi gets up to 230 no problem with only 210hp thus you can understand the disappointment with a 120hp so-called advantage and a presumably slipperier body..

i hope you crash soon.

;) im just kidding.

If you can see, his location is Asia (where?), they might have no speed limit highways like in Germany. He is also quoting KM/H. Each 100KM/H is around 60MPH.

He is in Brunei, his country Sultan also like to drive fast,so they got nice highway for testing.

As I am in Brunei right now, I can tell you for a fact that going that fast is the only thing that will alleviate the frickin boredom...

Hrmmm. Calling what is very possibly an 11 second American vehicle "rice". Sorry, I just never saw an SRT4 that ran slower than low 12's/high 11's. Noone keeps those stock, and $1500 and a set of slicks/DR"s later, they are in the 12's, few bucks and a good driver more sees 11's.

POS Turbo. Hrmmm. Meh. I don't see many 11 second Z's on this forum.
By what definition is that rice?

Really? Someone forgot to tell me then. I got up to 140 very quickly in my Z. Had plenty of juice left too. I slowed down b/c I got scared.

I think speed/acceleration is subjective.

I think this proves the point that the Z dies somewhere around after 4th gear is done. Look at the 130-140, and then the 140-150 times.

Really? In the GT-R there is a disclosure statement that you sign that states dynoing the car, driving it at ANY competative event, turning off VDC except in snow/mud, will void the warranty. I thought that was BS until I read it for myself. It is sitting on the floorboard of the passenger side of the car, at least, that is where I found it.

Here is the link where Ford voided a warranty partially because someone posted on a forum that they ran it at a drag strip:

I'm done with Ford - Team Shelby

Those things are irrelevant to what I said. You're not "supposed" to be doing those things.

But if you drive CORRECTLY.. they can't tell you what speed to go... only local law enforcement can.

True, but they can say you operated the vehicle in a manner it was not meant to be operated in. Warranty void. If they can tell you not to turn traction control off, don't you think they can tell you not to speed, too? Even LE can't tell you to leave the VDC on. Nissan can, though.

The Z is still a quick car, maybe not amazing in stock form but I can attest that my modded Z can get up to 140 pretty quickly. The better number to look at on the C&D sheet is the .98g skidpad rating!
