Worse stall?

Now for those that drive manuals, we all have a story to share. I think my worse stall was today. Driving home from work when I was at a light. I was playing with the clutch and brake. Wasn't paying attention and the light turned green. My foot was half choked on the clutch because I didn't give it enough gas. Then in my head I was like "Damn! Gotta start the car and go, don't look like an idiot!" Tried to push the ignition and no go why? Because Clutch was half choked. When everything was settled out, fine and dandy... I hauled ***. I didn't want anyone seeing my face! Oh the shame!

Thats not as bad as stalling on a uphill and the fool behind you decides you don't need any room in case you roll back!! :shakes head:

No, I've driven a lot. I wasn't paying much attention. When you drive its almost automatic what you have to do. Until you get a brain fart. Then my mind just went black. its all good.

Look at the rpm your car redlines at. If it redlines at 5,500 you can get away with that. If it revs to 7,500 like a Z you will need to get it up and running before you slack away at a light. The Z is a high rev engine. Please do not confuse it with a straight 4 banger. When your shifting one of those your not gonna see nothing but tail lights. Thats why you bought the Z! Dont be scared of it, its only a V6. lol!!

when I stall, I haul @ss right after to make sure no one sees my face lmao.

First day I bought the car...I was stuck in traffic. Then, just like you I had the clutch half choked, and didnt give her enough gas...so it turned off. With the excitment of the new car and the instant embarrassment of everyone around me I went blank. Being new to the "keyless ignition" i just kept pressing it but didnt hold the clutch down... for some damn reason I thought it was just gonna start.

After maybe 30 sec, I got it starting...and tried to distance myself from the couple who had a good laugh behind me. :(

lol. It happens to everyone. You get caught up in your mind thinking about stuff and all of a sudden the light is green.

I have found it is easier to stall with the 370 than the 350 that I had. It seems sometimes if the car thinks for a moment about what your foot is telling it to do before actually doing it. :rofl2:

Agreed, except I'd change yawn to snore.

If I'm sitting on a hill and I see someone pulling up behind me, I take my foot off the brake and let the car roll backwards. This almost always makes them aware of the situation unless they're complete tools. 99.999% of the time they give me room. :)

Just a thought.
