I know, there are a lot of threads with various problems and dislikes. But that's human nature. To each their own. If you can't find happiness in a Z, then something else would probably be better for you.

Bad luck (?). Maybe. Poor care (?). Maybe.

I never had issues with mine either (aside from the ECU whine) but you don't have to read the forums long to see that there are a few bad apples out there. In general these cars are very well built and reliable, but every now and then a bad one slips through the cracks.

Read the paper, doesn't help that people smoke pot and drink on the assembly line....lol

Looks like the Mustang 5.0 is the "Z replacement car of choice". This already is the 4th Z replaced by a Mustang on the forum. (as far as I have seen, there probably are more) Interesting, Ford is doing something right! I have yet to hear about someone replacing a Z with a Camaro or Charger.

Hey man that really is unfortunate that you had bad luck with the Z. I am really interested in the main differences between the Z and stang. There are so many forums and debates about these cars.......so i think you could shed some light on the main differences, pros and cons of each car since youve had both cars. PLEASE SHARE!!!!!!!!

I was never a fan of the mustang but the new 5.0 is pretty solid. Loving the power of the v8 but I just cant get into the look of the mustang and probably never will. But hey if everyone liked the same thing this world would be pretty boring!

Much like the Z the 5.0 is a world class handler (especially with the Brembo package) so those of us that have made the switch really don't feel like we're missing anything in terms of handling. Stock for stock the Z is more precise and quicker in transitions, but the Mustang matches it in outright grip and, based on my experiences, has better brakes (stock) and a much better balance (again, stock).

The 5.0 is a lot like the Z in that it brings in buyers who otherwise never would have considered the car before. How many people glossed over the 350 for some euro ride but were drawn in by the 370? A lot! It's the same with the Mustang. Lots of former Japanese & Euro sports car and sports sedan owners are jumping ship to try something new.

Also, the list right now I think is as follows:

Traitors :icon17:
1. Modshack
2. Red370
3. ME!
4. Carbonguy (except he got a 2011 GT500!)
5. Educ8r

And I have been talking with a few other members who are thinking about making the jump.

I think MiniCobra1 might make the jump too.

I thought he was waiting but I know he's been posting more on the Mustang forums than he has here lately, so I dunno.

Google 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 vs BMW M3

and yes the Z is much "prettier" than the Mustang

He's been chomping at the bit for a while now. I've not seen him do anything new to his 370Z.

There have been a few threads about Motor Trend's comparison of the GT and the M3. And, as I've said in all of them, I'm absolutely stunned that Ford's bad boy can keep up with the German for half the price. The Stang is a fantastic performance bargain. The Z is still a better fit for me, but I'm not surprised that the Stang is doing as well as it is. Again, congrats educ8r on a wonderful performance car.
