question about valet parking

This might be in the manual but i'm a little slow on the uptake today.
and was wondering about valet parking with the key fob.

the key is used to lock the glove box for anything you don't won't messed with.
and you take it with you and leave the fob with the attendant. so really the only reason for a key in the first place is if the battery goes dead in the fob?

Yeah. If your battery you can't pts you have to place the metal key on it to turn it on.

the key is used to lock the glove compartment but also allow you to manually open the doors.

I don't like giving the fob to valet b/c they could easily lose it...there's no way to add a small ring on the fob(without key) so the valet can hook it on their key-boards.

Key fob

Actually the key can't start the car(the metal key insert). Like doubleG said though you can use it to manually open the doors. If your Fob runs out of batteries you just have to insert it in the Fob slot to the left of the steering wheel and it should start. Do not try to insert the metal key in the slot because it will probably get stuck! Also I valet full time and on a busy weekend we may get up to 30 Fobs where the owner holds on to the key and any house keys and what not that may be attached and we use rubber bands to wrap around the Fob tightly and hang it by the rubber band on the proper hook with the ticket.

Yup, hes right. You put the Fob into the slot, not the metal key itself...
