I would like to know and be oriented on how the 370z will be depreciated in the market considering brand, year, color, package, mileage, and the other factors that will affect the value of the car during time, other than taking the car out of the dealer.

I am assuming that this car will be depreciated as the 350z is. I bought my 2007 350z in February 4, 2007 and was holding 16 miles on it a the purchase time, right now, my car has exactly 17,644 miles on it. In my opinion, since I am the one taking care of him, is in excellent conditions, but to be fair, I went with "good" category on a well recognized depreciation book that you might know (I am not going to give free sponsorship to them, lol) and Trade in Value was aprox. 17K Private Party aprox 18.8K and Private Value aprox. 22.5K I got my car for $26,995 + taxes, tag fees, etc...

How much this first generation and/or next gens will cost in the next years...

I think that "depreciation" is the (very) small electrical impulse in the far left side of "dealer's" brains. IE: it's all perception. Whatever the dealer "thinks" the car would be "worth" after a period of time. (Again... that small electrical impulse.)

For us however, it should be of no consequence. Why did/are you buying this car? Is it for re-sale value? Or is it for the pure enjoyment? Is it for "status"? Ego?

'nuff said

I tried to explain that to the rest of my co-workers who drive craigslist $500 specials. Most of them lost money on Hawaii's real estate market. :eekdance:
Hell, at least I'm having fun with my Z. :driving:

Did you have very high mileage or wear? I'm thinking it could have been partially due to the anticipation of the 09 redesign. People might have been putting their 350Z's on the market or trading in for the 09 370Z and that could have created some large supply of the older model.

Also, when you say "value" do you mean KBB estimated value or the actual sale price? Clearly, they go hand-in-hand given people price their cars based on KBB but, it would likely be slightly different.

dont want to sound selfish but im hoping the 370 nismos drop as much as the 350z nismos did. i might pick one up when they are mid 20's
