Sports Package wheels

was curious, how often do you replace the wheels on a sports package and the cost associated

m4a1mustang 09-16-2010 07:49 AM

I'm sure you meant the tires.

People are getting anywhere from 10-18k out of the stock Bridgestones depending on driving style. If you want to replace the tires with the same Bridgestones as stock, they run about $300 each. The cheapest option is going to be the Hankook Ventus V12, which runs about $175ea for the front and $200 ea for the rear.

One of the more popular performance tires is the Bridgestone RE-11, which I think is a tad cheaper than the stock RE050A.

Do you mean the tires? I hope I don't ever have to replace the wheels!

Tires will last you 12-18k from what other people have experienced.

kenchan 09-16-2010 09:16 AM

tires are about $1200 at tirerack if you get the same RE050A's. next time around im getting the RE050A polepositions. :)

How many miles? You may need to check your alignment.

i think its pretty much been answered...im at about 12k, i probably have around 3-5k left depending on how i drive. i'll probably be going to re-11's or the pole positions for these next time...it'll run around 275-300 a tire. ouchie.

USMCASA 09-17-2010 01:48 PM

oh sorry i've missed this thread a couple days, i now have 42k on my car as of yesterday. i do take the z to the mountains(shady valley, tn and tail of the dragon) and don't drift at all

kenchan 09-17-2010 01:59 PM

wow... but i was going through tires every 3K miles carving the santa monica mountains over a decade ago every weekend so i suppose that's not too bad. :D

370z2k10 09-17-2010 02:31 PM

Hmmm, I got 35k miles out of the stock Bridgestone tires on my 350z.

Jeffblue 09-17-2010 02:40 PM

well after long enough, they just become slicks right?

kenchan 09-17-2010 02:41 PM

super thin rubber slicks.

370z2k10 09-17-2010 02:51 PM

Fronts were almost slicks...rears still had some tread left.

lol that's odd, it's usually rears that go first on a RWD car.
