Opposite paint jobs....

I'm very curious as to what it'd look like if I did the fangs in lamborghini grey as well as the rear diffuser. Since my car is black, it won't be too obvious but I'm just so tired of the black Z having no additional color. I'm still so upset with myself that I didn't get the Pearl White Z like my original plan but when I saw the first Z on their lot, being my black one, I couldn't help it but to buy it. I don't have enough money for carbon fiber parts for a long time so I'm just trying to think of something that will bring some color but not too much. What do yall think? Maybe I should've put this thread in the photoshops..Oops ;)

The CF Fangs should not run you too much...

SophiaZ 09-13-2010 05:45 PM

BUT would it really be worth putting cf on my black car? I'd hate to spend money and not see a difference.

Why not use some painted painters tape to check out how different color combinations would work/look?

You'll see the difference, but it won't be super obvious. It'll look better as a subtle difference anyways.

^ ok, gotcha! But I guess no one has an opinion on what I was thinking about doing? haha...sounds odd, I know

I think it would look good if you painted it grey.

SophiaZ 09-13-2010 06:58 PM

yea, I think a flat grey ( sorta like primer, would looks sweet) but still have no images for it yet

TreeSemdyZee 09-13-2010 07:30 PM

Personally, I think it would stick out like a sore thumb. Kinda make it look buck-toothed. Do you have Photoshop or something like it to try out some ideas?
I know you were doing some Nismo interior, ever give a thought to a dark/blood red fang?

Jeffblue 09-13-2010 07:46 PM

why not go matte black for those parts you want? XPEL makes a stealth film that basically makes whatever part you apply it over look matte.

No, the thought of a dark red or even matte black never crossed my mind. Doesn't sound bad tho either or. I did think about doing the calipers red so maybe the red for the fangs and diffuser wouldn't be such a bad idea:tup: But than again..I need it all to flow and not look too standout-ish, ya know? I just want to add some type of color and I know yall got some pretty good taste so help a sista out ;) I'd need a photoshop for that one tho.....

I have some of the photoshop, just not the full install :( Plus, I have no clue what I'm doing with it haha

If you do anything like that, I would include some part of the side skirts, just to pull it all together...

SophiaZ 09-13-2010 08:27 PM

^... ???

Mike 09-13-2010 08:32 PM

well, I think the gray would look good. The GTR has gray lower moldings.

OMGWTFBBQ 09-13-2010 08:38 PM

I actually like the look of carbon fiber on black. It's subtle yet only noticeable from certain angles and if you're looking for it.

Bad example I know. And this car's body panels are all carbon fiber except for the rear quarter panels.

I agree, CF on black is outstanding

CWofRR 09-13-2010 08:58 PM

Imo if you dont want something permanent go with vinyl, its cheap and easy to install. Okay maybe not easy lol since your gonna fo the fangs and rear, but it will keep you busy for sure. Haha it took me 45 mins just to do the rear. Oh and i have flat black.

If you put color accents in the front and the back without having any accents on the side, I think it would look out of place (disconnected).
So if you put for instance any red on the front and back, that design should follow through and you would need some red accent on the side as well.
Any color you would use on black would be making it a focus point, which is the opposite from the black out fangs.
