Free oil changes...
Should I use my free oil changes that the dealer gave me? They gave me 5 free oil changes.
Should I trust them? What would you do? |
do it yourself. not worth the hassle.

:iagree:
The dealers have more than likely done a lot of oil changes on Z's at this point. |
hah i have like 5 quarts of oil sitting in my catch pan (sealed) b/c i've been to lazy to get rid of it after i did my change... can i take it to any service station?

Do Z's have that big plastic panel covering the underside of the engine for aero purposes?
On the G, there are something like 12 screws + 4 clips holding the thing together. The last time my dad's G went to the dealer, they didn't put them all back. . . |

Plus, you can forget about them using a torque wrench. I don't care what a shop or dealer tells you. They rarely use them. |

Ask em if you can trade them in for a bunch of oil

Not all dealers are bad. Just watch them work on the car and make sure they use the good stuff.

I opted for the Silver Plan Maintenance option which is 36 months or 45,000 miles, whichever comes first (oil changes). My dealer allows me into the service bay to personally watch the whole process. It takes 15 minutes. Better than sitting in the waiting lounge to wonder if they're actually performing the service properly.

yah make sure u torque the screws for the cover snug but not super tight they tend to back out while driving.

Never had aan issue with Dealer Oil changes on the Z or Max or with prior Nissans......

I got 2 years or 30,000 mile free oil changes when I bought mine. I decided to change my own oil. Did my first on the Z this past weekend. My problem is that no one in the world cares more about my car than me. Sure they may be able to get the oil change right, but who is to say they won't scratch it, tear up the interior getting in and out, or get stains on it. If they admit to damages, then you got to deal with the repairs. Just not worth the hassle to hand my fob over to someone that doesn't care about it like I do. Some people treat their vehicles like a spoon, it's just a tool to do a job. Not me, my vehicles are inanimate family members, if it gets hurt, I take it personally.
