Mine had 172 on it when I got back home from Indy where my dealer did a "Dealer Trade" to get it. And I didn't have to pay the $350 to have it done.

11 miles on mine

fly yellow 05-25-2009 10:55 AM

Wow, most of you would have ran from mine. I had over 300 miles on it. Mine was brought in for another guy who ended up not going through with the deal. It was also test driven by a lot of folks who had no intention on buying the car. I haven't noticed any problems, and I put that many miles on a car in about 4 days.

Most of the guys that DX cars for dealers are retirees. They are not 17 year old kids. Dealerships aren't going to pay for that kind of insurance. I used to own a detail shop when I was 19, and I couldn't get contracts with car dealers because of my age and insurance.

Well, many people are picking their car up from the truck almost. Mine came in Wednesday and I got it Friday night, my name was on it and no one drove it other than for the state inspection thing.

It's a personal thing, some people care, some people don't. If youre cool with it, that's all that matters. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/smilies/cheers.gif

Believe me I would have loved to back mine out of the crate. I am just incredibly impatient, so ordering wasn't an option.

ocfoilist 05-25-2009 02:07 PM

Yeah, mine had 114 miles on it. I asked if it was a dealer trade and they said no. I didn't really pursue it as my options were extremely limited (it was take that car or put in an order to Nissan) and I lacked the patience to place an order. But there just weren't any Monterey Blue touring models with sport and navigation packages that came in 6MT around. All in all, it doesn't really bother me. I punched it a few times before 1,000 miles so I doubt anyone did much worse with my car before I bought it. I guess I'd be more worried about someone grinding the clutch repeatedly but it, too, seems fine.

Mine Had 18 on it when I bought it

My first post here, sorry for no introduction but this is a very compelling question posed here.

The dealer has a "Loaded" and I mean loaded advertised as a "Show Car" with 1900 miles. sticker is ~41,500, reduced to 37,995. Seems like a pretty good deal, but with everything said should I be leery?

Thanks in advance.

Wayne

^ it's not really a deal since no one is paying sticker anyway. Most people seem to be paying $500 over invoice.

fly yellow 05-25-2009 10:30 PM

That is an okay deal on a brand new car, but with 1900 miles that car had to be a demo, or it's lightly used. I wouldn't pay anymore than 37,000 for it if it was a demo. If it has actually been titled before I would look at 35,000.

i'd say no, i just went to the dealer to order mines straight from japan at $500 over invoice

first 2 dealers were complete jackasses, but the third dealer's the charm, in and out in under an hour with everything planned and priced out :happydance:
