Second power outlet

Were the engineers on crack when they designed it? Do I really have to find a place to place the tray if I want to use the second power outlet? :shakes head:

trent1331 07-15-2010 06:48 PM

Who uses the tray anyway?

shumby 07-15-2010 06:57 PM

it holds my change

Matt 07-15-2010 06:59 PM

I'll use the tray 100 more times before I use the second power outlet. I've never used the first power outlet. There's 2 power outlets? :icon18:

kenchan 07-15-2010 07:00 PM

I noticed this too...

Boost_lee 07-15-2010 07:17 PM

I disconnected mine and used its power source when I hard wired my radar

flashburn 07-15-2010 07:19 PM

I removed the tray the day I got the car. Weight savings! Estimated butt dyno gains of 3.2whp!

Soygen 07-15-2010 08:25 PM

2010 doesn't even have a tray. At least mine didn't

LunaZ 07-15-2010 09:13 PM

What tray?
I have one power outlet in the center console and one under the glovebox.

Lol... obviously the one that didn't come with your car. :icon17:

ARFCOM 07-15-2010 10:23 PM

So what is this 'tray' that everyone is talking about?

I just bought a new 2010 370Z and I'm curious what you're all talking about.

This:

Took it out the day I got the car, no need for a place to keep my change. Don't have change, spent it all on the car

LunaZ 07-16-2010 07:02 AM

Yeah, I totally don't have that.
The previous owner must have kept it.

Huh. Neat. Where is it located in the 09s?

Do you guys have the cupholders in the door panels?

Lemers 07-16-2010 07:27 AM

Looks like something the 2010s can by at the dealer if they really want one.

CBRich 07-16-2010 08:23 AM

We do have the cupholders in the door. This goes underneath the flip up door in the center console.

SigPapa226 07-16-2010 09:02 AM

The 2010 roadsters do NOT have the tray, at least mine doesn't.

mcphelps 07-16-2010 10:05 AM

'09 owners manual calls the tray a "partition". Not mentioned or shown in the '10 manual.

Jeffblue 07-16-2010 10:10 AM

i'm definitely not jealous of the tray.

Mt Tam I am 07-16-2010 10:50 AM

Don't be jealous. I took it out the moment I got home with new Z. The space is too valuable. It sits somewhere in the garage, gathering dust.

wheee! 07-16-2010 11:15 AM

I was choked when I found out my '10 didn't have it so the dealer ordered one in for me gratis. I thought it was missing from the car, so I wanted it! Even though I have not installed it or used it once...

CBRich 07-16-2010 02:47 PM

I will sell my limited edition 09 only tray for the bargain price of $150.

specZ 07-16-2010 03:41 PM

My '10 nismo came with. Its not all that its cracked up to be though, for the very reason that I cant charge my cell phone without removing that tray which has about 10 dollars worth of change in it.:icon14:

Jordo! 07-16-2010 03:56 PM

You guys have an outlet inside the cubby hole? They moved the outlets too then for '10-- mine are inside the arm rest storage space and under the glovebox.

No, it's the same for the '09.

No, for those of us with the base stereo, we don't have any kind of USB plug. Therefore we use one of the power outlets.
