Caution for jacking up a lowered z using ramps
When I Jack up my z I drive onto two 4*8 so I can fit my low profile floor Jack under the z. I usually leave the 4*8 under the front tires unless I remove the wheels. I put the wheels back on and lowered my z back down without placing the 4*8 under the tires. I usually slowly lower the z back down but this time the handle was stuck and as I twisted the handle to lower the z, it came down quickly. The handle completely bent the sport lip back and the floor Jack was stuck under the car. The first thing that came to my mind is the oil pan is crushed and the second was good thing my varis lip isn't on yet because it would of been broken.

unless you changed coilover height wat goes up comes down at the same height... why did you remove the 4x8's? :icon14:

Because I took the wheels off and I was working inside the wheel wells. I pushed aside my ramps so I had more room. Glad I learned my lesson now than later.

This is one of those 'just sharing to be sharing' posts.

Best way to learn is through operating experience from others. OE for the win.

An operational check list would probably help for these situations. |
