Switching 2010 order to 2011?

So, I placed my order on a 2010 brilliant silver 370z in April, which is expected to be here next month (July).

After seeing the new gun metallic paint option though I am seriously considering eating my deposit and ordering a 2011.

I guess this question needs to be directed towards those familiar with the process, but is this even possible considering my car will be here next month?

Thanks for any help.

I think it's possible. Deposit is not contract to buy. They are refundable. Dealerships will make it difficult but they will definitely refund your deposit. If you are planning to order the 2011 with the same dealership, I think u'll have an easier time as well.

i wouldnt bother changing your order for another shade of gray man.

I haven't seen the pics of gun metal. Any up and about? Or does it look pretty much like the 40th anniv paint color?

theres only so much you can do with gray man... lighter... darker... boring.

As long as you don't mind waiting 4-5 more months...

just put on some sunglasses and look at your car. it will look darker.

why don't you post the specs up of the car you ordered, and see if someone on here was interested in that set up. maybe your dealer would be nicer about it if you said you had found someone who still wanted the car.

I hear you. I ordered the Platinum Graphite and then switched my order to Black Rose in mid build. The dealer whined a little but honoured the order regardless. And yes, I waited 3 more months for the car....

Well, that's because our color is awesome! :D

I agree, though. Do what makes you happy. The dealer will accommodate. They're not trying to lose your business.

You will always say down the road, I wish I would have gotten the 2011.

+1 grey is just gray and no matter what shade of gray u drive it will still be the same color type of 65% of all cars on the road. Sh1t my altima is gray and though I think its the baddest performing 4dr FWD I done ever been in aside from a mazdaspeed3 but mine is dark slate. And though its more of a blue gray. Its still grey n after 2 years I'm getting bored with the color gray.

I said it before and I will say it again... NISSAN, please make some creative colors. Grays and silvers and whites are really getting old.
