Well first oil change then hit!!!
Just had to vent and i knew you guys would understand.
Had my oil changed for the first time at 3000. Anyway after getting it done thought i would go to the mall, you know where this is heading right. Parked my car at least a 1/2 mile from the entrance, yeah that's right when i got back someone had smashed right into the drivers side of my baby! the rim even had damage. The only good thing about it is they left contact imfo they had even called their insurance company. So there is still decent people left in this world. My insurance guy said he couldn't believe they left a note Anyway i'll post pics soon. Things can be replaced people can't. rental is a pontiac vibe! from a 370 to a vibe!!! |
Wow ... you are a lucky man and just goes to show that there are 1/2 decent folks in the world still... Good luck w/ the repairs man.
|
Sorry to hear that dude. Thank god they left info!
|
Wow! Glad they left their contact information!!
Prior to our 370z Roadster we had an Audi TT Roadster. At 600 miles on the Audi TT, some lady turned left right into my front quarter panel and wheel, while I was just driving straight. I think the damages came to around 5-6k when they were all done with everything she managed to hurt....she was fully responsible. So when we bought this car, I didn't drive it at all until it had over 600 miles on it :) |
as a person who had a vehicle they purchased brand new (my truck) get hit and run 3 times... count your blessings you don't have to go through what i have to get something done about it. still sucks tho, my first H&R was at 3400 miles in the parking lot of a restaurant and it happened right in front of me and there wasn't a damn thing i could do about it

<--------- has dinged a door severely and left a note before
Seriously, it's the right thing to do. Although, I'd expect car enthusiasts like a lot of us on this board to probably take that more seriously than Joe Q. Prius. |
Best thing about this is the person was decent enough to leave contact details. I just hope they are valid contact details. Aside from this I feel sorry for you, you take precautions to protect your car aand this kinda stuff happens!!!
|
So sorry about your car. But the fact that they left information is amazing. I rarely hear about people doing that on a day to day basis in the business.
|
Just proves sometimes you can't be to careful. If you park your car out of harms
way people think you are stuck up are something. Luckily the contact information was right her insurance has already called me with a claim number. there gonna crap when they get the bill for that one rim not to mention the rest of the damage. I'm getting it repaired at the nissan dealership hope they know what their doing. might even think about getting the clear bra for the front end and get rid of that black one. Anyone know if this goes on a carfax list |
Hopefully it's the correct information.

If it's been reported it'll show up on the carfax most likely. |
tack on extra for depreciation

Having a unique car has it's downside. I do the same thing, park a mile away so no one parks next to me. It doesn't work sometimes because people want to look at the car and park next to me anyways. It's flattering and irritating at the same time.
It amazes me how someone could hit a parked car. If its reported to the insurance company, it will likely show up on carfax. Just make sure the repairs are done correctly and keep a detailed record should you plan to sell the car in the future. I would want to be honest with the future owner anyways. This situation could have been worst had the person who hit you just fled. Pay it forward. haha..Pontiac Vibe.. insult to injury |
This is everones nightmare, I worry that something going to happen someday I just don't know when, where, or how bad.
|
ah poor baby!!!!!!

Seriously.... YouTube video's of you jumping that sh*t and doing psudo donuts in a parking lot had BETTER ensue!!!!! :rofl2: |
Sorry to hear that. . . my Z was hit at 400 miles in two weeks of having it too.
In another story, someone hit my Buick's bumper and left a number/note too and paid up in cash... |
Count your blessings. We had a brand new v6 accord get t-boned in the rain because the other driver had bald tires and spun into us. $8460 damage on a 3 month old car, just a gnat's *** below total and I couldn't get them to total the car. :shakes head: On top of that the other driver lied and said I was the one who lost control. No witnesses. No lost value claims (successful anyway) in NC. Life's a bitch. Lost my *** on that car when I sold it a few years later. Sometimes you're the bug and sometimes you're the windshield.

Leaving contact info takes some of the sting off but still sucks. I hate my cars after accidents, feels like a girl friend cheated. You just don't feel the same as before.

That sucks! Hope you get it fix fast so you can enjoy it!

I've got one for you. While my girl was at work, someone backed into her MB C300 in a parking garage...got out, looked at the damage...and left. Luckly someone described her to my girl. The funny part, the lady who hit her had just applied for a job under my girl. ...and reported to work the next day...awkard...moment."oh by the way...did you back into my car yesterday?"...
My girl lucked out and this ladys insurance ended up buying a new door on a C300, not cheap. |
