i prefer MT over AT and i envy people who enjoy driving AT cars because nowadays, it's easier to buy a nice car with AT than a nice car with MT (For instance you can't buy an AMG with a MT).

Never understood this one. Drove stick through H-town back when they tore 59 up and sat in it for hours in a cammed up 5.0 with a clutch about 3x as beefy as the one that comes in these Z's. No big. You get used to it.

This MT vs AT argument is so stupid.

You just can't change peoples' minds, so stop trying. You won't 'win'. Just like you won't make a gay guy straight and they won't turn you gay. Save your energy.

That's like telling a drunk guy at a bar that that girl is a lesbian and nothing he says/does will change it.

Dammit! We gotta try! :tiphat:

Did I get this right, if we drive an automatic once in awhile we won't turn gay. But will that make us bi? :bowrofl:

No it will make you faster! If your gay or not depends on the color of your car.

Formula for 10 pages of nothing useful on a car forum:
Hey guys, something something something 6MT something something something 7AT

OP: If you can afford it, get the car you want, we don't know your personal finances.

i thought the modern AT was a bi because it can operate in automatic mode and in manual mode as well :)

Driving is so much more than how well u change gears. No one here has really put any input on why one is better. Use the one that makes you a better driver. There is an art to paddleshifting as there is to driving manual. Driving manual just gives you the advantage of better burnouts and easier drift capability. The auto is better in really high speed driving courses. As what you drive as a dd. That just depends on personal preference. I personally prefer the new dct and/or pdk over both man or auto. But the nissan 7at tranny is sick imo.
As far as road safety as an arguement. Auto drivers get careless while manual drivers are way to overconfident and have accidents based on plain stupidity. The only reason why statitistics lean toward manual drivers having less accidents is because the ratio of manuals to autos are bias toward autos. A true driving enthusiast who values his driving skill will be good in either tranny.
Manual trannies are being slowly phased out on cars due to autoclutch trannies becoming the preferred choice in sports cars, so 6mt lovers keep your manual cars in mint condition. 20 years from now the manual will be history and you will own a piece of it.

mick 12-11-2010 01:18 PM

haha. 20 years from now only the old timers would know how to drive a manual transmission car :)

it's kinda like i bought a t-2000 racquet (the racquet used by Jimmy Connors) from ebay. When I brought it to the tennis shop for a string job, nobody there knew how to do it. they had to find an old timer to string it for me :)

Its not whos faster or not. It all comes down to one thing. We have 3 pedals and they dont. End of story.

specZ 12-11-2010 02:11 PM

all these responses and the OP hasn't chimed in since. This is GREAT! :drama:

Then the middle pedal must be the penis pedal for the MT guys. Mine is bigger. lol.
