Airbag turn off randomly

Whenever my gf is in the car, the passenger airbag light lit up ... It's suppose to not lit up right? Because it randomly off and on. I mean when I have a passenger, is the airbag light suppose to be oN or off? Thanks

Mine was flicking on and off while making turns with an empty passenger seat... Could be the ghost of girlfriends past?

tell her to stop bouncing in the seat... well, while the car is in motion.

If she leans too far left or right and she's small this could definitely happen.

Cyberium 06-01-2010 07:45 PM

Date girls that are over 13 and it'll turn on.

Not that I know anything abou... :wtf2:

LoL, she's over 100 pounds guys. This can't happen, she sits in the center and it still happens, now if she leans to the side of the door I would understand. I'm bringing it in !!

There are specific diagnostic procedures in the service manual for this. Take it in and have them check it out..

I've found that my wife will trigger the same "airbag off" light when she gets in after the car has been running for a while. If she gets in before I turn the car on, it operates as usual. Glad you mentioned this since I need to have Nissan address mine as well.
She's around 115 lbs

Disclaimer: Honey, if you read this.... I'm listing your weight for technical reasons and should by no means be read as me having issues with how much you weigh!! :) While the couch is comfy, I'd love to sleep in my bed tonight!

very similar situation with me as well

Yup same here. GF is only ~90lbs so I figured she was just on the limit of what's needed to trigger it depending on how her weight is distributed. Interested to hear what the dealer has to say about it.

kenchan 06-02-2010 10:40 AM

puck- your GF's going to need a booster seat. :D ;) (i think recommendation was for 80lbs so she's safe!)

Haha I saw a commercial that said you need one if you're under 4'10", I think it was. She barely made it :rofl2:
