test drive both, good night.

What?!?!? I get all my advice off the interwebz. Think of all the time I save not having to think for myself!

I cross shopped the S2000 when purchasing my old 350Z. Coming from a Civic Si I liked the high red-line, but knew I needed more low-end torque for a daily driver. Now the 370Z has a better interior and more modern tech, but you should be able to pick up an S2000 for significantly cheaper.

A friend of mine just put a turbo kit on his s2000 and made 300whp and 198wtq. Not even as much wheel tq as a stock 370 and about the same whp as a 370 with full exhaust. While it weighs 300~ lbs less, that still pretty weak.

I think guys look like homo's in a 2 seater convertible anyway.

I personally love the S2000's look but I prefer the 370

also don't want to buy second hand cars since you never know what happened to them

198 tq sounds kinda off. I had a 4 cyl turbo and with a chip it had 300 tq and that was a small turbo for low end power. I dont think he matched the right turbo for the car.

I dont remember the exact trims of what he bought but they did sound way too big for such a small motor.

You made 300wtq out of a 4cyl? Which one?

Audi TT 2.0T. It had 280 hp and 300 tq with a chip and downpipe. But it was FWD so it had to be feathered off the start.

Don't go by what you hear. Lat acceleration is way higher on the Z, ridgidity is higher. The S2000 is dated imho. Roadsters are not my cup of tea.
But hey... test drive em both instead of getting opinions. Make your own opinion. But just remember, when someone can't say something nice about a car with a legendary reputation? That's called HATE and there opinions are worthless. And that goes for all brands, I'm not saying that cuz we in the Z forum.

I didn't have an S2000, but I did have a RSX type S, which is a honda 4cl with a high rev line. It was fun, but to get anywhere quick you really have to ring out each gear. Same as in the S, I would assume. The Z is so much more effortless and more fun to drive on a day to day basis.

I knew it wasnt a honda ;)

I even think the NSX is a waste of money. a C6 z06 is superior in basically every way, and for less money.

I had a 01 s2000 and a 03 s 2000 ( one was totaled out, and I got another , I was T boned at an intersection while waiting to make a left by a drunk ) Held up REALLY well I was impressed, I walked away fine and the guy was going 40ish mph Id guess ( he fell asleep )

S2000 is a sick car to drive, but its slower and smaller.

I loved the s2000 but I think I love my 370 more than the s2000.

But neither of them dissapointed...

I am also willing to bet that 97% of the guys on s2ki are talking out of their *** and have no real experience behind the wheel of 370s because the car has a ton more than just power. Most honda guys are nissan haters so its to be expected.

im still trying to figure out why these cars are even being compared, the Z is in a completely different class. Period.
