I got mine for 43999...it became 53/54K because I added an 84/56K warranty, wanted 2K in my pocket to cover TT&L, and I was upside down on the Z. Maybe I didn't get a great deal...but no reason to rain on my happy moment any more than what the dealer already had done with jacking up the door, a-pillar, chip on the fascia, scars on the headlight lens and whatever else I find between now and Monday night when I turn it in to get fixed...<sigh>

$100/wk...until I got rid of credit debt, it was 0/wk. It's a step forward.

I really tried to bite my tongue, but I just can't. Anyway, not to be a d!ck, but if you're financing a car for 84 months, you can't afford it. Simple as that. And if financing your 'Vette for 60 months would've made the car payment higher than your house payment...just...wow. No offense, but I think maybe a new Corvette shouldn't be your priority.

I hope it's worth it, but somehow I think after the seventh year of paying on that car rolls around, you won't be as enamored with your "deal." As you said though, it's your money, and you only live once, so good luck!

This is why its a good idea to keep the financial details to yourself. :)

Sometimes it's good to be old and smart vs young and .......

"The vette I got was an LT1 - the bare-bottom vette."

Aha! That's why it's a smoother ride than the Z:

Car&Driver: The Z06 is almost too much car for regular roads. On the highway, the ride is quite compliant, but it gets choppy over high-frequency, small-amplitude ripples. Surprisingly, it’s quieter than the base car at 70 mph, though the engine is more raucous under hard acceleration, when the V-8 snarls in a harsher, less mellifluous manner. The shifter still has a manly action but was a lot smoother than the base car’s. An observed fuel economy of 20 mpg is impressive considering the Z06’s capabilities.
Although the Z06 is even faster and grippier than the base car, it’s not as easy to drive hard on bumpy back roads, darting here and there in the braking zones. It crashes hard over the most pockmarked surfaces, and the steering feels a little less linear and more aggressive on turn-in.

One has to be young and stupid in order to be old and
wise.

After the 72-84 months. Procharger!!

Yeah, including the other 3 vehicle loans and credit card debt you have.....But, Hey! It's the American way (Which is why so many are in so much trouble these days)

Thats whats keeping me from getting my dream car. I have a loan on my car, just got the wife a jeep wrangler islander, and my daugthers car loan while she is in college. But when she is out of college and paying her own bills, dream car here I come. And a nicely loaded Vette will probably be on the list.

Words of mother fuckin wisdom. :iagree:

Well you can look at it two ways, one get the lowest paymnet you can by going longer in years cuz if you keep the car for the full length of the loan it doesnt really matter much. Two you can always pay more when $$$$ allow for it. Whe I get my so called dream car it will be a car that I keep for a very long time so if I pay on it 4 or 5 or whatever it wont really matter. A car is a loss no matter what way you pay for it so have fun in it and dont worry be happy.

One could say if you have to do anything on credit, you cant afford it.

Never more obvious than here. If the car can be bought yesterday for $42K, what's it worth today??....$38K?. That puts the OP $18,000 upside down even before the payments even start...Yikes!
