Sport.

And no I didn't read your post, just the title.

synolimit 05-13-2013 09:44 PM

Lol wow that about sums it up, thanks guys. And yeah I guess it is worth it. To buy lighter wheels (and not by much) I'd have to pay a pretty penny. Plus the tires I want are an arm and a leg too and I'm sure these will be ok for some time. Buy the time I do spend money on upgrades ill be well over the $2600. Does anyone else wish you could pick and choose a few less options?? I hate big bulk packages in the end.

Haboob 05-13-2013 09:50 PM

Honestly, I don't. I like all of the options that the Sport Pkg. came with.

Chuck33079 05-13-2013 10:34 PM

It's far cheaper to buy the sport package than to piece it together after the fact. I honestly think all zs should come with the sport package.

Amuse370z 05-13-2013 11:01 PM

Unless you live in Canada, I don't think it is worth $4000CAD.

raymondo510 05-14-2013 04:07 AM

To be 100% honset, I regret not getting the Sport. I have a base that came with the front chin and spoiler, and while i've upgrade wheels, I think I would of done it just for the brakes as the base ones do tend to fade.

Nailzs 05-14-2013 05:28 AM

Sport Package = :happydance:

vrfreak 05-14-2013 06:28 AM

definately worth it!

Limited Slip Differential. If you want more details than that, Google is your friend

Frankly the open diff in the base model is about as useful :ugh2: If you have any real need for an LSD, you probably won't be satisfied with the one that comes with the Sport pkg. However, for just a DD, it's no big deal.

Ohhhhh...

I was going a completely different direction with "LSD". I think that's one of its effects. :ugh2: :icon17:

Serious note, the LSD in the sport pkg. is def. good enough for DD. Not much more, as JAR said.

kenchan 05-14-2013 08:55 AM

the VLCD does fine for my weekend drives. :)

Ha!!! Another gem from the forum's real treasure, Mr. Kenchan. Does his wit know no boundaries? It seems not.

Love the sport pkg. At least 13+ owners got nice base wheels.
09-12 owners. If you didn't buy aftermarket wheels for your base? You have no dignity or self respect.:icon17:

Hahahaha. Just kiddin'. That was harsh, BUT... 09-12 base wheels make a nice upscale looking sports car look kinda cheap. Even my wife was completely against the base and she's not into sports cars like I am.

Red__Zed 05-14-2013 12:46 PM

Sports package is a great deal if you don't plan on modifying the elements that are added with the package.

Non-sport gives you $3k to drop on more serious modifications (and makes it easier to drop in some of the Torsen diffs available).

The Rays are a great reasonably lightweight option, but there are better choices (especially as going wider up front is critical on the Z), and they're the most important part of the package.

The VLSD won't stand up to any of the use you'd actually want an LSD for (except maybe drag racing). SRM may matter to some, I guess, but NVA in my mind. Brakes are still a question mark in my mind (is getting air on them enough?)...I'd probably go elsewhere either way.

But, great value if you're keeping those parts on the car.

Chuck33079 05-14-2013 12:48 PM

You can sell the Rays and brakes for nearly what the sport package costs if you upgrade from there.

Which means you are paying $2700 - (whatever you sold parts for) for the VLSD and SRM (and a plastic lip thingie), AND have no stock parts.

Versus on the base model, you'd still have brakes/wheels to throw on in case of tire damage/return to stock/etc

kidkotic2001 05-14-2013 03:50 PM

yes it is worth it I would not get a Z without the sport package.

You aint kidd'n, but those 13+ base wheels aren't all that either:icon14:, and it looks not so good without the rear spoiler. S/P or nada. :eekdance:

I don't think they are bad for stock wheels (from a looks perspective), but then again my expectations aren't particularly high.

Unfortunately, they're heavy and narrow...

It also blows my mind how much Nissan ripped off Porsche with the rim design:

The VLSD is what's worth it on the sports package. I got it off of a member here and plan on replacing the gears with 4.08. As far as the wheels, the only ones I like are the 13' base wheels (the then 12' roadster wheels). The sport wheels are not appealing in the slightest meaning of the worth 'appeal' to me. The base 09-12 wheels look better imho.

kfull 05-14-2013 07:32 PM

For some, sports package doesn't make it or break it for them. It's kinda personal preference. I'm the kind of person that anything I buy that has a choice of 2 options where 1 is more expensive, but improves the product slightly, I HAVE to have it or else I won't be happy. That being said, sports package all the way:tup:

b15 05-14-2013 08:32 PM

^ Agree. I go one step further and go for all the options lol. I like my cars fully loaded.
