Copy Rights must be hella expensive!:wtf2:
I love the Manual Transmission, guess ya'll need more practicing to do!:rofl2:
Synchro-Rev Match Mode is genius!
Yes, most argue that it's cheating and that you must heel-toe BUT
As technology advances things outdated.
Manual will soon be extinct. :shakes head:

I love the SRM, but I really don't use it enough to appreciate it. It's usually off, and the only reason I turn it on is to hear my FI exhaust when down shifting in public traffic. Sure, I could just stab the gas pedal when slowing down and shifting, but somehow I feel less of a ricer when the car does it for me.

Part of driving manual... is that its manual. Automatic rev matching is just another electro-gizmo that takes away from doing it yourself.

efficiency doesn't always equal fun

Unfortunately my leg doesn't allow me to turn my foot far enough to properly heel-toe, so the SRM is a great feature for me in my MT Z.

you're doing it wrong, haboob. i dont turn/twist my leg for street heel and toe. just use the side of your foot to blip while braking. only when i need full braking power do i twist my leg and swing my heel around to blip.

it feels awkward at first, but once you get use to it, you'll end up doing that even while driving AT cars that dont rev match on down shifts. :D

Cool feature? sure, necessary for people that have been driving manual transmissions their whole life without it? definitely not. This is why copycats havent emerged, its not imperative to have.

I agree. It's a cool feature and works as designed but for daily driving I leave mine off. And when I go for a spirited mountain drive and switch it on, I end up fighting it because my muscle memory and habits are so ingrained after driving a stick shift starting off road in a Meyers Manx dune buggy in 1968 that I have to consciously not blip the throttle or double clutch.

Yes! I started doing this when kenchan first mentioned it! So much easier! :tiphat:

Oh, I thought you had to kind of twist your foot inward a bit.

I wonder if my foot is even wide enough to touch both at the same time. :icon17: That and the brake pedal seems much higher than the gas? I dunno, I'll have to give it a shot in an empty parking lot one of these days.

I believe Porsche offers something very smiler as the SRM on some of their models. The new Corvette is the first 7MT & you see some cars with an 8AT. This is just something to think about.

This. Except for "dying" instead. :)

Seriously, there is no rush out there to add any new technology to a manual clutch stick shift. It won't be too long before they aren't around at all anymore. On the Porsche forums there was a recent discussion of a large dealership that had just ordered 36+/- new 911's and only 3+/- in a traditional manual tranny. The Porsche PDK is about the best out there so that skews it some, but it still makes a pretty sad statement if you are a fan of the traditional manual offering.

I still wish they had timing adjustment on the column, just like the old model T's.
You kids don't know how to drive anymore. Technology pffft. In my days we had to use a whip to change gears.

Seriously though I agree with CrownR426.

I have been driving stick since I was a freshman in high school, so I know how to drive them. I used to keep it off because of my driving style and Pfft I don't need this confounded SRM. Well lately I have become accustomed to it and I rather like it. I turn it off from time to time just to feel the difference and there is a slight difference.
I do appreciate.

I do wish our steering wheel was a bit smaller. Seems kind of big. :/
