Do I Really Need those 'Air Dam Flaps'
Hey All!
I added the TS front lip to my car and lowered it amoung other things. The front air dam was taken off, but the smaller air dam flaps remain. They occasionally scrape speedbumps and low surfaces on the road. I want to take them off but am not sure what they do. What do those do? Is it really neccesary for me to keep those?? |
Take them off unless you like scrapping them.
It adds 200lbs of downforce. Its just an aerodynamic piece, took mine off a long time ago. |
I was wondering if you had...... I feel like I would not loose too much down force since I do have my TS front lip anyway. THX!!

Ha ha I was joking about the downforce. But I'm sure lowering the z improves the aerodynamics so those things are no big loss.

or leave them on so you know your only scraping those and not your front lip
|
or add a piece of material under it like a piece of rubber, so u know if anything scrapes its that.

yeah.. i read your post a couple days ago, thought about it and will leave them.. not that big of a deal..... Thx All!!

The flaps won't prevent you from scrapping your lip because the flaps are right infront of the wheels. You will scrap your lip before the flaps. I prefer not having the flaps because if I scrap going over a speedbump I want to know if it's my lip so I know to avoid that speedbump again. So far I've only scrapped the black lip a few times on driveways.

if i added a lip id probably remove them especially if i was lowered and scraping all the time.
