Honestly I think these car mags just run out of ideas and come up with crap.
Next month we'll see "Ford Expedition vs. Honda Element" "Well, for what the Element lacks in towing capacity it certainly makes up for it in fuel economy, although it's hard to beat the cargo capacity, towing capability, and general utility of the Expedition." |

So it seems the Genesis might have won if it had wider tires and a less intrusive traction control gimmick.
Interesting read. |
Odd comparo, definately should have had the the G37 coupe to level the playing field a bit instead of the 370. I say that because they obviously did not care about price & 4 seater to 4 seater is just more fair.

Months??? That was like a year and 2 months ago. I have that magazine in my archive... lol People keep saying the 370z is the only true sports car. Its like people dismiss GT's totally. GT's are the more balanced vehicles to drive at extremely high speeds. I've driven cars that were better balanced than 2 seat sport coupes. GT's n 2seaters have a different focus. I understand that. But a 2 seat sports car isn't automatically superior cuz it has 2 seats. The comparo wasn't done to be a direct comparo. It was actually done just to get an idea of how much power a genesis coupe can produce. The genesis coupe topping out in price where the other two cars begin I think did rather well. And having driven the GC. You will find its steering to be as balanced as the Z and better than a G37s. (I kno cuz I own the G) it can't outrun a G but its handling is near identical. (I've driven the GC a few times) with the right tranny and ecu fixes the GC in 2011 may be a bigger threat than it is now. As far as the mustang. 2011 brought a new stang and those numbers aren't valid. The GC will probably always be 5% or 10% behind the competition. But at 25% to 35% less than the comp. Its still a great value. Your preferences lie where they may. My preference is nissan myself. But a spade is a spade. The genny is a true contender, and in the future, a GC fully modded? Nay-sayers will get slapped with some reality. Any car company putting out a balanced high power sport coupe at a reasonable price is ok in my book. |
Those saying that this article is old...
you realize it was posted yeterday? :V This isn't a mag article, it's from autoblog which typically has better reviewers than Motortrend/C&D/R&T/etc. :p |

When I saw the pictures of the front for all the cars it became apparent where the Genesis Coupe got it's design inspiration from..
The long sloping hood, headlights far apart and cross-eyed looking...It's got a severe case of the downs! |
I almost feel insulted that we were compared to the other two.

and as far as numbers go, i'm a numbers kind of guy, how many podiums has the genesis won anywhere.... check the track, 1/4mile threads, the Z in stock and modified form is taking trophies. |
Good read. The price difference between the Z and the Mustang make the Mustang seem like a pretty good value.
