To Debadge Or Not To Debadge?

So I was thinking about removing the 370Z badge from the back of my 2009 Pearl White Touring/Sport.

Anyone here have a white one with the 370Z badge removed? I'd like to see pics to help me decide!

I debadged mine, just personal preference.

Exactly, i dont want anyone, whoever they are, to confuse my car with a 350, the 370 stays.

shadoquad 05-11-2010 12:52 PM

It is personal preference. I like it on the car. May eventually swap for a Fairlady badge, but I doubt it. My Mazda6 has an Atenza badge on it. Yes, I'm a jerk. lol

C4talyst 05-11-2010 01:13 PM

I think debadging is rice, by definition. Sorry; just my opinion. If it's not performance-related, I just dont give a s***.

I voted for de-badge. Makes waxing easier.

Jesse_Hunter 05-11-2010 03:11 PM

Yeah people call mine a 350 all the time, drives me crazy. I never thought about removing the "370z", but I did consider the Nissan symbols, is that stupid? Most people still ask what kind of car car it is anyway, without even looking at emblems. I was in Stillwater this weekend for my sister's graduation and this guy with an '07 BMW Z was talking about my car like crazy. It seemed really funny to me, because I guess I wouldn't expect someone with a newer BMW z to think my car was better.

I've had people make comments that having "fairlady" on the back would automatically make people think its a chick driving the car and that it adds femininity, while in japan its normal, the average every day joe here in the states have zero clue of its history.

I'm not a big fan of alot of plastic badging on cars, I've been thinking about taking off the nismo and the 370z off mine.

molamann 05-11-2010 10:25 PM

Debadged mine first week into ownership. That was also back in Jan 2009 when most of the general population weren't even aware of the 370Z's existence. :<>

Matt 05-11-2010 11:41 PM

Leaving the badge on so people "know what I'm driving" seems like a silly reason to keep it on. I have a Nismo though, which is a lot harder to confuse with a 350z (but still happens).

I think the debadged looks great. Personally, I rebadged to "FairladyZ" and it sparks up quite a lot of positive conversation.

Forrest 05-12-2010 06:44 AM

I removed mine. I hate how my detailing cloths get caught up in them every time.

when i see a car without badges, makes me think that the car has been in a crash...

MightyBobo 05-12-2010 08:25 AM

<-- Debadged.

Nikon FM 05-12-2010 08:32 AM

Leave the 370 and replace the the ugly Nissan badging with a chromed black Z, that's what I'd like to do.

I wish I could find someone who made a good replacement.

I had the same idea, I've only seen those chromed black circle emblems also. I think it would look really clean, esp because I have magentic Black!

Still trying to decide if I want to go through with it....
