370z comfort?

I'm seriously considering a 370z but my only concern is comfort. How comfortable would you say your Z is? My town is full of potholes and all that nasty stuff so I just want an actual owners point of view

I plan on getting the 7AT too.. Is that such a crime?

It's fine if you don't mind a harsh ride. Obviously the sport package cars are going to be harder than the non-sports. Rough surfaces can jar you around but it's smooth everywhere else.

From the factory they are very smooth, Every one that has ridden with me commented on how comfortable the Z is to ride around in. Now after my install of springs and stiff sway bars some of that comfort is gone.

m4a1, why do you say the sports pack will be rougher? They use the same suspension. no?

The tires. There's much more sidewall on the 18" rims to absorb the bumps.

Yeah, you must live in NJ.

However the car is pretty comfy. Unless you are over 6"3" and 280lbs you should be fine.

I was going to say it depends on what you're used to but I see you drive a 325xi. Expect a harsher ride. I'm in NJ too and there are some roads/areas that I avoid. And when I need to go to some areas that I know of that are pothole ridden, I won't even drive the Z.

it is a surprisingly comfortable car given it's sporting credentials.

Stick to the 18" wheels just for the extra comfort factor as well...

The only thing which is not comfortable about the car is the tyre roar... on the wrong road at the wrong speed it's hard to have a conversation with the person next to you

I feel the car is extremely comfortable, I love the cozy feel of the interior but it doesn't seem too small (I'm 5'10). My only issue is on a few roads (the 101 through Camarillo being one of them) the car bounces a lot..I don't recommend getting a Starbucks and using the cup holder on bumpy roads..it can make a mess (lesson learned, on my part.) On smoother roads, its a dream...

Overall, I wouldn't change anything about this thing. I love it as much as I did when I drove it off the lot!

I drove my 370Z in NJ for a year until I moved. It was comfy enough for me. But that's me. Go test drive one and drive it around, see how you like it.

I find the car very comfortable and I drive about 20 miles of my daily commute on washboard roads plus I have a NISMO which has the firmest ride.

Comfort? Gimme a break. This is a sports car not a luxury car. If my commute had harsh roads, I would have kept my titan to say the least. I hate those piss poor highways where those jokers didnt care how they laid the asphalt or whatever the term. The z will let you know how poorly its laid by the road noise. I love my z but its not a luxury ride. It has a solid tight ride. :driving:

it is very uncomfortable if you plan on taking naps in your car. The headrest feels like cardboard. Also it's almost impossible to have sex in the car. Driving though is very comfortable. It's stiff but not harsh. And the cabin noise is fine about 98% of the time. The other 2% is still tolerable. I just wish the steering wheel telescoped just a tiny bit. If comfort is your only concern about the car, you should definitely get it. Don't worry about it! And if you don't believe me go test drive the car. The NVH complaints from 'professional' reviews is exaggerated too in my opinion. The car was never intended to feel like a Lexus LS.

The Z is a sports car plain and simple. If you are concerned about comfort maybbe you should look into getting the G37 its luxury counterpart....
