Guilty Secret - I love these wheels...

I am so sorry - I know I ought to want aftermarket wheels, but I can't help it...
...why would anyone want anything else?

They are so perfect for the Z.

...and I think I'm falling in love with white too :wtf2:

Your not alone :wtf2: but black for me:tiphat:

I think i will drop it down some and roll stockers for a lil bit :) I love them too

TerribleONE 02-01-2009 05:25 PM

Its not so much the wheels that im not crazy about... but i dont think the fitment is aggressive enough for the 370...

...maybe a tiny part of me just wishes they did them in 20's...

...and I like the Nissan front mudspats too - they suit the styling of the sill - they aren't on this car (never liked them on the 350Z). Maybe I'll start a front mudspat thread.

nogoodname 02-01-2009 06:39 PM

those are nice rims, but aftermarket rims are meant to reflect your own taste and make ur car unique and not common as all other Z's with stock rims

pulling a micheal jackson on the colours....eh.............lol

sorry if it was a corny joke.....

frost 02-01-2009 06:57 PM

I like the rims, they look pretty good. Would like a little less wheel well visibility, but oh well.

I like the stock wheels a lot too, and plan to keep them on for a while as well.

I might try and get some spacers to push them out a bit; however, I don't know how good, safe and reliable those things are.

Does anyone know?

coaxial 02-02-2009 12:49 AM

I <3 them too probably will not change em until I find some rims that I cannot take my eyes off of..

semtex 02-02-2009 11:03 AM

A little less offset would help the looks too.

i dont like wheels with no lip

The Weapon 02-02-2009 03:43 PM

I wasn't sure if I liked the rims or not until i saw them in Person. I can't stress enough how much pictures do not do the 370Z justice.

My wife hated the stock lip and wheels on the car and wanted to replace them as soon as we picked ours up. I told her she needed to wait until she saw them in person.

We finally saw a sport package this weekend and they are NIIIICE! We will be keeping the car as stock as possible (looks wise) for as long as we can without it looking dated.

RwIron 02-11-2009 11:35 PM

Man... I feel the same way... I dont think I've seen any stock/optional rims as sexy as these. ITS AMAZING. I love the fact that its light in weight too. No aftermarket rims for me... rather, im using that money for a new exhaust.^^

alan93rsa 02-15-2009 10:56 PM

They look like crab claws.

A little less wheel well?? Any less and the tires would be rubbing the fender! It looks just right to me as it is and any lower it wouldnt look right. I also agree with the first post. These 19" rays look sweet on the Z. Now the engine bay is where I am spending my money. Twin Turbo Baby!!

Epik 02-15-2009 11:44 PM

They're pretty nice, I like them. But they might look better if they had straight clean lines.

CSXJoe 02-16-2009 12:07 AM

I dont like the stock rims that much. Im gonna try painting them black. Should look better.

Crash 02-16-2009 01:57 AM

Keep the stocks for daily and get some track wheels! :) That's what I'm doing.

That is my plan as well. I am having the stock 19's powder coated gunmetal in a few weeks though, should look nice on the white.

I am thinking 18" ROTA P45R's for track wheels, flat black.

Crash 02-16-2009 02:30 AM

Will the 18" wheels clear the brakes?

Good question, I suppose I will have to look into that...

Crash 02-16-2009 04:29 AM

I think 18's would be better for performance, but even if you don't use the BBKs, the stock brakes are pretty big. I'm pretty positive that's why Nissan had to use a 19" wheel for the sports package.

I'll likely be using the RE30's in a 19" for my track wheels... They look good, so if I get lazy and leave 'em on, I won't be driving around on ugly wheels. LOL But I really do love the look of the stock rays.

I got to agree with you on the z rimz!

I have an 04 mach1, and the stock rims that came with it are perfect for the car.

I did end up changing my rims though, but i went with the same design through AFS Wheels and got the 9" up front and the deep dish 10.5" out back and instead of the grey on the inside of the mags i went with black, cause i have the oxford white with black decal stripe.

really sets the car off when the right rims are on it and the sport package z rims are definately on point!

I think he's referring to the offsets, not the ride height. i.e., the wheels would look better if they were pushed out by about 10mm or so.

batman_4 02-16-2009 01:23 PM

^ +1, IMO the only thing (weak offsets) that will make me get aftermarket wheels later down the road.

Post some pics asap, I'm thinking of getting mine powder coated also, but I might go with a satin black, like to see what the gunmetal will look like.

I love the stock 19's as well. I will not be changing them. Really, there's nothing I'm going to do with the exterior of the car when I get it. I think it's perfect just the way it is. Maybe a bolt on performance mod here or there, but IMO the car is just perfect the way it is. It's not like my old Mustang where once I got it I wanted to change all sorts of stuff!

SgtGoldy 02-21-2009 04:19 PM

I love em, just I wish they were black. I also wanna raise the back just an inch or two

SoCal 370Z 02-21-2009 04:39 PM

In real life, the wheels emulate the car's stylistic bulges and creases so well that if it were an aftermarket rim it would one of the most popular. It also a big sales draw as when you first see them on the car they draw you in to study them as they are very dimensional—they just go so damn well with the car.

inTgr8r 02-22-2009 09:08 PM

I wasn't too sure about them in early pics,
but in person they look great.

Mounty 02-23-2009 08:52 PM

I love them. Fit the car perfectly.

3SeventyZ 02-24-2009 05:45 AM

They are absolutly nice for OEM equipment.
But I see a brand new set of Volks in the near future.

I agree....
You should have seen the Cheap Hub Caps that the 240Z came with......they were horrible. !!!!! and they were 195s, I changed them right away to Michelin 205s. I was ashamed of the JAP Brigstone tires.......later I found out just how good the Bridgestones were.....they were 6 ply tires.........but No one......had ever heard of Bridgstone tires in 1970 and Michelin was very new in this country....
