The Sentra will be redesigned for 2011 and look like a baby maxima. Just wait, Nissan is brining a lot to the table for 2011!!!!

Have any stats on the 2011 Zs been release, likemore HP to counter the Mustangs increases?

40th370z 04-02-2010 11:21 AM

Other then the Hybrid.

FuszNissan 04-02-2010 11:27 AM

No, with the 2010 just coming out and the fact of it being completely redesigned, I wouldn't expect much for the next couple years.

Another 8 year body style run? Oh well, the one to get is the 2010.5

IMO, 35.5MPG average simply isn't possible.

The need for people to buy/own pickup trucks - even a 4-banger can't touch 30MPG, so that means for every truck sold (there are a LOT) - that means another car has to hit 40-45MPG.

What does that currently? Hybrids. Sad thing about hybrids is that it causes more environmental damage (batteries and their manufacturing process) than traditional vehicles.

If the US was flat, and we had a tail wind in every direction we went, maybe it could work, but I simply can not fathom how we would get 35.5MPG average from any auto-maker.

The number isn't that straight forward. They are calculating the target average based on the size of the vehicles sold. Manufacturers that sell larger vehicles (on average) will have a lower target than those that sell small cars.

Hate to say the Z is a rare car? I love it

Hopefully we can get a new congress , senate , and president by then to repeal theses crazy standards.. If not.. the cars we have now will be the last of the gas only sports cars/trucks/suv's

O fogot that the new standards will raise the car prices on avg of 4-6k.

Interesting - the company with the biggest percent increase is Maserati - guess the economy has truly turned around. :)

PapoZalsa 04-02-2010 09:26 PM

Wait until the Toyota problems all solved or they bring out the FT-86 and I wonder if the numbers are going to be the same.

Not saying that the Nissan line up is pretty good.
