Am i too tall for the 370??

Hi,i dont own a z..yet..But before i buy one and i need to sell my bike first also but i want to know if there are any taller z owners out there.im a solid 6'4'' in height and i have sat in a 370 but yet to drive one.it did seem a lil cramped but i think i cld suffer since its so sweet.lol.just curious before i really start considering a z if there are indeed some taller dudes out there driving em and how its treatin em.thanks guys and i hope ill start talking to you more often.

Red370 03-30-2010 07:14 PM

Unfortunately yes. Well, maybe if you take a saws all to the drivers seat, cut it across about midway down, and use the stabilizer bar as a head rest, then you may just fit;)

theDreamer 03-30-2010 07:15 PM

6'4" here with no issues.

Biggs85 03-30-2010 07:17 PM

really??do you have fairly long legs like me?? i sat in one and my knees were just a lil up toward the steering wheel.but thats how it is in my jetta too.i think at our height thats almost an issue in alot of cars.

fullmonty 03-30-2010 07:23 PM

Step 1: Go to dealership
Step 2: Ask Salesman to direct you to a 370Z
Step 3: Ask Salesman if you can sit in it.
Step 4: Fart

I dont know about the farting but otherwise fullmonty has the right solution.

I mean will you have purchased the car if the forum said yes you'd fit without trying it anyway?

Vice versa if the forum said you wouldn't fit would you not have tried anyway?

Would you not get a conclusive answer if you just tried sitting in one?

Biggs85 03-30-2010 07:30 PM

oh no regardless im gonna sit in one, which i have.just havent driven one yet to fully see how itll be.i was just trying to go a half step further before i obsess(lol) anymore over getting it and its too uncomfortable.its reassuring to hear a people as tall as me with no issues tho

vipor 03-30-2010 07:32 PM

You'll fit and adjust accordingly. I'm not quite as tall as you, but I do feel like I'm curling my back a little sometimes. Mostly it's because I don't like my spikey hair to rub lol.

ok got ya...

i'm sure you can fit unless you're 6f4 but with unusually short legs and long torso, i have a malyasian mate who is 6'4 with these weird proportions and yes he doesn't fit well...

theDreamer 03-30-2010 07:33 PM

I spent 5-10 minutes the second time I went to a dealership just adjusting the seat position. I will look when I sit in my car tomorrow and see where my knees hit, I can tell you I am not 100% straight back against the seat. My lower half sticks out a little to give me a little more head room; I think if I sit straight up my hair just barely touches and annoys me.

Creepy...

vipor 03-30-2010 07:34 PM

IMO you want more leg height in this car.

at 6'4 trying to wear a helmet may be interesting hahah

I have cheap deductibles, decent coverage, the better rental reimbursement, accident forgiveness, and towing. I'm 27 and don't have any other form of insurance that would warrant a further discount. ~$90/mo.

Biggs85 03-30-2010 07:46 PM

thanks, unfortunately im only 24.not 25 till august.they quoted me for a 350 like last year for i think around 175 a month, which im fine with.if it goes up just a lil i cld live with that.

Biggs85 03-30-2010 07:51 PM

thanks man,helped alot

z it go 03-30-2010 07:55 PM

Yeah that age is right where the pricing starts sucking less. Thankfully (not really), I drove a beater from ages 20 to 27.

I remember paying $260/mo for my 97 240SX (in 2001) and paying about $340/mo for the insurance. Completely clean driving record.

It's a scam I tell you!

blackflag 03-30-2010 08:21 PM

I drove the new Camaro, and it was way too small for me. I fit the Z great.

Biggs85 03-30-2010 08:24 PM

holy cow,those payments would suck

Yeah, I don't know what the hell they were thinking. I didn't like how heavy it was, either.

NewlyIMPORTed 03-30-2010 11:53 PM
