Where can I find Fairlady Z badges??

I know that they are different from the old 350Z so I want the ones on the new 370Z in Japan. Any ideas where I can find them, I already checked ebay they're not the ones.

I got my Fairlady 350 badges from Courtesy Nissan and their mail order Parts division (CourtesyParts.com). You might want to check with them and see if they have the new 370 ones yet or how soon they will.

You can find them here http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/370z/31-1127. I am not affiliated with Z store .

Should be as easy as usual -

1. Hairdryer to warm & soften the glue, then pull the old one off carefully.

2. Clean the paintwork thoroughly.

3. Peel off backing tape and stick the new one on - as long as there are no holes in the bodywork (and I can't see why there should be).

nogoodname 02-01-2009 04:13 PM

^^ not even, spray the "turtle wax bug remover" on the badges, let it soak a bit...then use a fishing line and slice the badges off and use the "turtle wax" spray some more to remove left over adhesive....and then buff it out with some wax

I did just that and i got a black G37.........the "goo-gone" that some ppl used was absolutely a waste of time........my method is like 20 mins max....goo--gone would have taken me all day to do...

keioh,

Its very simple. Just use fishing line and then clean the glue off before attaching the new "Fairlady" logo.

nogoodname 02-02-2009 09:10 AM

^^^ which is what i said.......lol

turtle wax spray, then slice with fishing line, then turtle wax spray to remove the rest of the glue.......

How about Datsun badges to replace the Nissan badges, anyone ever seen that? I prefer the Datsun name.

thanks for your input.

The "bug remover" won't damage the clearcoat?

nogoodname 02-03-2009 04:43 PM

^^ it will if you leave on for a long period of time, if used as directed, you will be waxing the car...... just dont take a long time......spray on...wipe off

With the Bug and Tar method. If I don't have fishing line, Would I be able to just pull it off with my hands or is there some other household item that would be effective?

Waxed Dental Floss works better imo. Plus, some of the stiffer fishing line can cut the paint. Been there done that, Doh !!?!!!

Waxed Dental Floss adds some protection while cutting the adhesive.

In my case, the surface was damaged by etching of glue from the previous emblem. Therefore, I had to buff the surface out with plastic polish.... veeerrrry carefully and a bit at a time.

Then rubbing alcohol to prep surface for new emblem and then I waxed AFTER the installation of the new emblem. Waxing before doesn't give as good of a surface for new emblem to adhere to. :ugh2:
